I love Blastos and Acans, so I would have to say some beautiful color morph that I haven’t seen before.DAILY QUESTION: What’s your dream coral?
I love this feature — wish I had it right now!DAILY QUESTION: How important is dimming control for your reef tank lighting setup?
Definitely the feature I wish my current lights had was controlability — dang broken Wi-Fi connection!DAILY QUESTION: What’s one feature you wish your current reef lights had? OR if your current lighting ticks all the boxes, what's your favorite feature?
Unfortunately, no.DAILY QUESTION: Do you currently use supplemental lighting, and if so, what’s your setup?
Definitely had some algae problems in the past! Not sure if it was lighting or excess nutrients (probably both), but did try going from 100% down to 10% to see if there were any benefits.DAILY QUESTION: Have you ever experienced issues with algae growth due to lighting, and how did you solve them?
Usually light penetration. When you get a lower quality light, usually with low wattage LED chips, they lose PAR rapidly from the water surface to the bottom of the tank.DAILY QUESTION: What do you think is the most underrated benefit of high-quality reef lighting?
I had a very tiny smaller-than-dime-sized plate that I passed off for dead. Had almost no flesh and even the mouth was gone. Somehow nursed it back to life and got it growing again!DAILY QUESTION: What’s the best coral growth success story you’ve had?
A fat, puffy, bright red cynarina!DAILY QUESTION: What’s your dream coral?
Very important for the aesthetic. I like a smooth sunrise and sunset.DAILY QUESTION: How important is dimming control for your reef tank lighting setup?
My Orphek Atlantik ticks all the boxes. I think I love the Clouds feature the best. That way I don't have to program a Saxby-esque schedule myselfDAILY QUESTION: What’s one feature you wish your current reef lights had? OR if your current lighting ticks all the boxes, what's your favorite feature?
I currently do not, but I may if I get lucky!!DAILY QUESTION: Do you currently use supplemental lighting, and if so, what’s your setup?
I love dimming especially if it's gradual enough that I don't notice shifts in intensity.DAILY QUESTION: How important is dimming control for your reef tank lighting setup?
As a beginner, I believed this to be the case, and I would try black-outs, dosing Hydrogen Peroxide, dosing Vibrant (cringe)... But now I think the major issue is open real estate and lack of consumers. If no "desirables" (e.g., coral), are occupying space and consuming nutrients, then algae will be happy to fill that space/role. I think light has a role, but not the most important one.DAILY QUESTION: Have you ever experienced issues with algae growth due to lighting, and how did you solve them?
I've experienced algae growth but I never thought it was caused by my lighting. I think a little algae is normal so unless it's out of hand I don't really pay much attention to it.DAILY QUESTION: Have you ever experienced issues with algae growth due to lighting, and how did you solve them?
