Well just spent an hour reading this whole thread. Up until a few days ago, I didn't even know this website existed. Been out of the hobby for too long! Used to have a 180g 15 years ago. New wife, more kids, and new house have me in the planning stages of a 225g basement in wall. Looking through build threads to get some ideas. Amazing Build!

@Deezill Was that aquarium adventure in Bolingbrook? I was just there last weekend to look at the 210, it wasn't on sale at the time, while I was gone in the bathroom, my wife went and fell in love with a puppy...long story short, we have a puppy and not a fish tank....yet

Glad your getting back into the hobby (sounds like me, I've been on and off for years lol). cant wait to see your build come to life, and dogs are the only thing I love more then fish!!! what kind of puppy is it?

The Hoffman Estates store. I think the sale ended in August. I got a wonderful deal loving that 210.
Too bad you don't live closer I have a 180 for sale which is what I was going to use until I got the 210.
I have the 180 up for sale for a little bit less than 600.

Well after hearing some things I’ve decided to spend more and get an acrylic tank.

@AiKkz it’s a mini goldendoodle. Wife always wanted a big one and I told her no big dogs. She found a loophole that we didn’t know existed.

That's What I currently use and will be using. The purple box is what I love. No reason to stray.
Nope I’ve tried Red Sea and the alk swings were crazy!! I always end up back at IO, never switching again.

Good choice, I wish I went acrylic!! You should do bare bottom to minimize scratches and have crazy strong flow

Why did you swap the shark out for the (barracuda?). Wish I could have mounted some of my catches over the years!
I didn’t move them, must be the angle! Those are my father in laws he didn’t want them so I took! I do a lot of hog hunting too and I got a couple big boys mounted!!
