Hello everyone. Could you guys help me identify what this guys has in his fin? He is in QT but don’t want to nuke him with a bunch of things. I have had him in QT for 1 week - observation only.

Typical on angel and butterfly- looks like a small dot of cauliflower which is viral or fungus. A freshwater dip should help alleviate but you can also observe as it may fall off all together.

Once this thing falls off, when would you guys introduce him to the DT? What other preventatives would you use? - just a background, we get our fish from a source that QT their fish with copper. He has been already been quarantined for 14 days. We have him for observation purposes at the moment.

Once clear give it 48hrs to assure he is eating, no new growth on fins and a quick FW bath and enter into display and let him enjoy his New home !!

Thank you very much! Is this contagious to other fish?
I had a sailfin tang that came with the same thing. None of my other fish were affected. Good water quality and good food to keep him healthy made it go away. Has never returned.
