Just wait till you see it in person, I hadn’t seen one of Joes tanks before I got mine and was amazed at the quality. The bevels on the exposed glass edges are a really nice touch. Getting the pictures was a pretty exciting step for me as well.
Oh boy! I understand what you mean as I’m all the way out in Arizona and photos are great, but I’m sure seeing it in person will be a whole new ball game.

I have to say, it really is cool when the people doing the work are as nice as the quality they put into the tanks, and then great people like you make this experience even more enjoyable.

It’s nice to be happily surprised in life isn’t it!

Any updates?
Well, unfortunately we had a bit of a delay in production pertaining to the wood stand. At this point, completion is now scheduled for 12/20. By the time it’s shipped to my LFS, and they can schedule my install, I’m not quite sure if it will happen in 2024. Of course I’m truly hoping it does and I’ve got everything equipment wise ready to go. I will post a few updates hopefully today with photos of my QT/laundry room and share news regarding my QT process.

Thanks so much for checking in!

Curious about updates as well!
Hi there. I just posted a response to IcarusCantSwim above. There’s been a production delay, alas I won’t have much fun stuff to share for the next few weeks. I can’t wait for the grand arrival and sharing some good stuff with you. Fingers crossed!

Hi fellow reefers,

I hope you all are doing well!

I responded to a few comments earlier today asking if I had any updates, and I thought this would be a good time to share a general status update and share some new developments.

At this point, I am still waiting for the tank/stand. There was a production delay on the wood stand, and everything is now slated to be completed by 12/20. I’m not sure if I will be able to share an install update in 2024, as it will be a close call with shipping and delivery/install by my LFS. As we get closer, I will try to keep you informed. Fingers crossed for sure!

In the meantime, I’ve picked up some nice brackets that I intend to use for mounting my Lifegard 90 watt UV sterilizer horizontally inside my stand. I’ve also purchased a Hydros Launch and an XP8 to serve as my collective controllers. I also bought a 2 channel, lit, combination toggle switch box. I will plan on mounting this in a convenient location, probably on my hinged controller door. It should give me the convenience of turning off all the devices I wish, at the flip of a mechanical switch when I perform water changes and similarly, I’ll set up some rules for feeding time.

This will be the first time I’ve incorporated a controller so I’m very excited. There’s much to learn and the functionality is really quite impressive.

I’ve also finished quarantining a pair of ocellaris clown fish and a pair of purple firefish. They completed a couple of weeks of copper and 8 days of prazi pro. Now then can enjoy themselves until they are ready to go into the main display.

I included some photos of my blue 55 gallon RODI water barrel beneath my spectrapure RODI filtration system. I’ve recently installed a water softener and whole home water filtration system so I expect my filter media to last quite long. I will say, having never experienced either filter system before, showers are incredible now. It feels like bathing in silk and my shower door is immaculate.

Also including photos of my 75 gallon salt mix station which is plumbed to mix my salt and also feed it to my QT and main display tanks. I also splurged on a Sicce Ultra 9000 pump to transport RODI water from my blue barrel to my salt mix station and to top off my 20 gallon ago chamber of my sump. The pump is extraordinary and very powerful at 2250 gph. It fills my 75 gallon salt mix station in just a few minutes. I’m equally happy with my mag drive Iwaki that’s powering my salt mix station. You can’t beat an industrial grade mag drive!

I’ve also had the chance to mix ESV 4 part salt for the very first time. It proved to be very simple as expected and mixed extraordinarily clean and quick. I look forward to using this salt going forward and having a spotless mixing barrel no less.

I’ve also enjoyed my WiFi inkbird for my mix station and my qt tank, operating in tandem with BRS titanium heaters which seem of really good quality. I’ll use this same approach with my main display and establish rules via Hydros as backup protection. I tested the notifications of the inkbird heater controller and the audible alerts were heard from the opposite end of the house and the instant phone alerts worked great too.

I picked up a mini fridge for the QT room as well, and it’s already coming in so handy for my fish food. I also took the time to snake through all of my kessil wires through my light mounts which wasn’t much fun, but I love how clean it will look.

Thanks for all the positive energy as we near the finish line. Rest assured, I really enjoy hearing from you guys.

Have a great day!!

Love to see all the pictures!! If you dont mind my asking, how much did you fork out for you water prep station? I'm putting together all my bits and bobs to construct my 120g, and up to this point Ive been just buying water from my LFS since I only had to manage a 10g I started to get into the hobby.

But nowwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww, 120 gal is a ton more water so I went ahead and invested in a RODI unit, and am eyeballing my wellhouse wondering if I should just plumb it straight into the house...

Thank you! I think setting up your own system would be an initial expense up front, but hugely worth it. I believe the RODI unit was around $480, and the blue barrel was a used food grade one which I’m uncertain exactly how much at this point, but under $100 for sure and the salt mix container was around $250. These were purchased in July so I can’t really remember exact pricing. The two pumps, the one for the RODI and the one for the salt station were around $650 combined, and the 2 nice larger hoses were sold by the foot and not cheap. I had someone help me with plumbing the mix station. These things absolutely do add up.

Les,
I know exactly how you feel. I still haven't heard if my stand will actually be ready this week. We have to keep in mind that Joe had a health issue for a few days and Thanksgiving.

That’s some really cool art right there. Way to inspire!

We got this and are at the precipice of Glass Cages greatness!

Very disappointed my stand and canopy were not finished today as it was promised. Joe from Glass Cages has stated that their furniture biz is very busy but now I am at 3 months and waiting.

Hi everyone,

Here’s a quick update. I’m on the verge of stand completion, but not quite there. Feel free to check out a few photos of my handsome stand in its raw state.

It will look a lot whiter in my next update. Fingers crossed for the timeline gods of 2024.

Have a great weekend!

Thank you! I’m going for a modern, open vibe. I can’t wait to start scaping. I feel like that’s the most fun for me when setting up a new tank.
I did mine 6 months ago. There are 8 separate structures that interlock with one another

Love it! It looks like you’ll have some spectacular flow in there with that design.

I have the basic layout for mine, but I expect that I’ll play around with it a bit after I get everything together. Gotta get the creative juices flowing.
