Hi guys,
my name is Torben and I am from Germany. I will break down my acrylic home tank of 5.500 liters (1,500 gal) and build a new office tank in the next few months. The concrete tank just get one window right in front of my office desk of acrylic or glass. Can't say that in this moment.

The dimensions are

3,97m x 5,29m x 1.55m = 32000 Liter
13 ft x 17,3 ft x 5,1 ft = 8500 gal

Here are a few videos of my room divider between dining room and living room.

I have a tank room in my garage. There is my quarantine station and the sump of my display tank.

I am interested in build spawning pairs of all my fish. In past a have success with Centropyge interrupta, Acanthurus polyzona and Liopropoma carmabi. Of course many more

Here is my actual fish list

1 x Apolemichthys arcuatus in TTM in moment
1 x Apolemichthys xanthopunctatos
1 x Apolemichthys griffisi
2 x Chaetodontoplus conspicillatus tb
1 x Chaetodontoplus septentrionales tb
1 x Chaetodontoplus personifer tb
2 x Centropyge multicolor spawning
2 x Centropyge interrupta tiny in quarantine
2 x Holacanthus clarionensis tb
2 x Pomacanthus imperator
1 x Pomacanthus annularis
1 x Pygoplites diacanthus yellow belly in TTM

1 x Acanthurus sohal
1 x Acanthurus lineatus
2 x Acanthurus leucosternum
2 x Acanthurus achilles
2 x Acanthurus polyzona
2 x Zebrasoma rostratum
2 x Zebrasoma gemmatum
15 x Zebrasoma flavescens
1 x Zebrasoma desjardinii
1 x Zebrasoma velifer
1 x Naso vlamengii
3 x Ctenochaetus flavicauda

1 x Chaetodon tinkeri
1 x Chaetodon mitratus
1 x Forcipiger longirostris
4 x Hemitaurichthys polylepis

2 x Liopropoma carmabi spawning

1 x Equetus punctatus

2 x Hoplolatilus marcosi

1 x Pseudojuloides atavai male
2 x Labroides dimidiatus
1 x Pseudocheilinus ocellatus
1 x Cirrhilabrus katherine
1 x Cirrhilabrus isovaceles

2 x Oxycirrhites longirostris
5 x Neocirrhites armatus

2 x Synchiropus splendidus

2 x Oxymonacanthus halli

2 x Gymnothorax melatremus

40 x Pseudanthias evansi
10 x Pseudanthias pleurotaenia
1 x Pseudanthias ventralis
10 X Pseudanthias parvirostris
2 x Odontanthias borbonius
1 x Serranocirrhitus latus

For my new this is already enough fish. I just pair up the most angels and if everything is fine with Po4 and No3 I will introduce more Anthias and or small damsels. Few angels like griffisi, personifer, annularis will leave maybe because I don't like them, they get to big or I am just afraid for to much aggressions. I like to buy a trio Genicanthus personatus but they are to expensive in this moment. I hope I get them in the next few years cheaper like the kingi. They lost 75 percent of their price in the last half year. That is the only reason I bought them. Also I looking for 2 multifaciata tb and 2 Centropyge colini and 2 centropyge joculator. Also Anampses feminius and lennardi. Lost my lennardi few days ago...

Cool plans! Will be fun to follow. Finally one more large reef tank on R2R:)

What colours will you have on the walls? Scape, only live rock or do you plan to do a structure under it? Have you found any good large LEDs or what type of light do you plan for?

Awesome thanks for sharing your tank with us!
How are you planning on handling the weight - for instance will you need to do major remodeling?
Looking forward to following, it's tough to find concrete tank builds :)

This is the build I wanted to see. Especially in Europe. Will be interesting where you are getting all the equipment from.
I’m in UK myself and plan to build similar aquarium, but with two viewing sides, of 4x4x1.5 metre, but the aquarium itself will be 5x5x2 metres high.
Keep detailed updates coming

Sounds like this is going to be very exciting!

What are your plans for the existing DT?

Black. Will "close" the concret with resin by myself. In this moment I am not sure how to do that exactly but I will do so much as possible by my employee or by myself. So it will be a little bit of DIY treat.

Sehr schoen Torben!
Gruss,
Torben

Vielen Dank Torben ;)

Skimmer: Royal Exclusive Bubble King Delux 650 intern
Fleece Filter: Genisis EVO3/1000 SWT
Return Pumps 4 x Royal Exclusive RD3 230 Watt
Flow Pumps: 2 x Abyzz Flow Cannon AFC 400 Watt
Lightning: 10 x Orphek Amazonas 320 Watt (maybe, what all of you think is that the right way?)
Rockwork: Epo Reef by Norbert Dammers. Distributed by ATI. In this moment only in Germany because the demand currently exceed the produktion. In the future worldwide. New production capacities are currenty beeing created.

Maybe I will test an Oloid 400K. 700.000 Liter per hour and only 250 Watt

My old plan was also to build it two meters high but I don´t want to build a big Tank. I want to build a tank that need minimal maintance. Not the whole tank get lightend so I cant see the walls. I want to see in the depth and I don´t want to clean the walls. If I build the tank two meters high it will be heavy to reach not the walls with light. And also I want to stay in the tank and will be able to breath without rebreather. That is for safety and more easy to do something fast. Also the tank looks larger if it is not so high. So I decided to lower the water level. Screenshot_20200224-190255_YouTube.jpg

Hi Torben,

Orphek looks great!!! Great Idea!!!
Abyzz Flow Canons great!!!
Would certainly looking at Abyzz A400 Return Pumps. Their energy efficiency rate and construction is crazy good.
For the Skimmer at that volume would go probably with a Sander Helgoland Skimmer...

Oloid looks interesting... First time I saw it...

Gruss,
Torben

Great system and can’t wait to see the new system take shape. Your ventral is doing well with so many other anthems?
