Sounds like the places with high prices are landlocked locales. I know my 2 stores where I live in Florida have normal prices on all their stuff and have no problem getting stuff in from the wholesalers in Miami.
San Diego here where we get stuff from Los Angeles pretty easily. This one LFS is just notoriously overpriced.

Am I going crazy or that thread was older than it shows? I see it was posted yesterday yet I’m pretty sure I saw the post and first replies a few weeks ago.
It’s a reoccurring theme... deja vu all over again.

Saw this the other day. Straight up insanity. I've been a major fan of LA/Diver's Den for years but the recent changes, subsequent to Petco's purchase, have been nothing but greedy anti-consumer actions across the board. Very disappointing.

Never liked them. They look like fish you’d get for a fresh water tank.
If they resembled FW fish more they would actually be nicer

I got one of the yellow belly blue tangs last month from there for that price and consider it a good deal. Real nice fish and is buddies with my gem tang. I always search this forum before buying for a promo code that gives 15 percent off :). I like to refresh that page at 3:00pm when all the new stuff is added to see if something needs to be snatched up.

If I could breed and sell them (PJ Cardinals) for $120/trio plus shipping and box fee they would be my favorite fish in the world! Heck I can buy them for $10 or under from my LFS now.

That is Canada like pricing...ha ha

About $40 per fish which isn't too far off what they can go for in parts of Canada.

Looking at Live Aquaria website, some of the fish cost even more than Canada..

They have it listed for 159.99, I bought one here in Vancouver in April for I think $89 CAD give or take a couple dollars. (about $65 US$)

And petco hasn’t had any $25 or $30 off since covid started. Looks like everyone is hurting.
