So, this is my 3rd time trying torch coral. My last ones have died from different causes.

My first torch was a green torch and my parameters were all over the place. It wasn’t surprising that it died 5 months later from BJD.

My second torch was a nice DS torch and my tank was doing really well. However, before vacation, we left all my corals at an LFS. Because there was a massive rainstorm, the LFS had a power outage and the torch was the first to die.

Now, I am on DS torch number 3. I hope that this will be my final attempt. If anyone has any tips, please list them below. I also have a video attached.

Keep conditions stable
Keep it in your tank
Keep away from sand
Mid to upper level placement
Medium flow
Medium to high lighting
Feed 1-2x a week
Leave space for growth 6+ inches

I would say to keep all kfc ingredients on hand and be familiar with the procedure.

If you get bjd it’s difficult to reverse and kfc dip is the best chance. It’s not guaranteed. But it’s the best treatment.

Even fragging a bad head isn’t a guarantee because by the time one gets it, the bacteria are on the other heads and inside the skeletal structure.

Where did you source the antibiotics? I can’t seem to get them anywhere in the US.
