Well I see a CBB :D
He still chills around the tank :)
This photo pretty much explains him, always in plain sight but still mysterious.

i was going to get a CBB but they had none in stock so i got a powder blue instead
Honestly, I do wish I went with a Forcipiger longirostris sometimes but that’s just me loving their incredibly long nose and the fin shape.
Also, you guys will get a new FTS later :)

Well, I nearly lost one of my big mother ricordea’s. This guy decided it was going to up and leave its spot in a rock, which left a huge open part in the middle of the Ricordea rock.
unfortunately, he got stuck in my wave maker and started to get shredded. Luckily, I saw this occur and it hadn’t shredded completely.
Now I’ve just put him on a rock in hopes he recovers nicely.

And there is some flesh on the wave maker still.

I talk about it a lot but rarely show it… Here is my gorgeous mother sponge that throws out some of those paler sponges in the sump. Below that is also a bright yellow sponge which you can kind of see in the photo :)

Happy you were there when the almost-unfortunate-wave maker incident happened. Lucky as these types of things usually, as part of Murthy’s law, happen when one is away on a trip!

I’m now hoping no other yuma legs it off of the rocks, I was incredibly lucky as that one yuma wasn’t small either, it was one of my 6-8” mothers (I think it was one of the 6” ones) and could’ve resulted in a crash of corals.

At that size, I do believe it would have had a big negative impact. Lucky!

I will say, now that ricordea has moved off the rock he has revealed atleast 6 babies with 4 being almost microscopic.

Hey… who’s this @Dave1993 dude? I like the 1993 reference but I have a sneaking suspicion his “1993” is much different than mine. My 1993 stands for the first year I got myself a permanent email address. Prior to that the addresses I had were all hosted by companies that went belly up. Anyone here remember Q-Link? It was the precursor to AOL. Yep, I’m THAT old!

I need more ideas for Corals to look for…

So far I have;
- More Yuma colours to mix in
- Sarcophyton elegans
- and 4 Frags of SPS growing in my nano.

One thing to remember is;
This is a Mixed Reef but also it has risky fish when it comes to corals :)

I recommend S. elegans. Want to replace mine. Fiji is open for fish. Hopefully Walt Smith gets his permit reinstated.

I mean, you’re not wrong haha.
LPS and Softies mix well together most of the time but when you have a Trachy just thrown in the middle, it detracts from the rest of the group! Mixing everything in with eachother makes it seem nicer in my eyes haha.
My trachy attracts

See, I did that in 2 reef tanks… both times it just took the eye away from the other corals. When someone like you has a trachy it merges perfectly :)

CHECK YOUR THERMOMETERS! I thought the water in my sump felt cool for 78. Used my calibration thermometer and it was 76! Darn Apex probes lose calibration and I have 2!
Definitely do - My temp sits at 75-77 every time I check
