I believe a few other reefers have their clams with their angels and they’re not bothered. It seems Tridacna species aren’t often predated on by angels whilst the NPS species are more so at risk.dang was hoping u we're gonna say in ur 4 ft want to try a maxima in mine but cba with angels eating it lol
have you used a par meter ?I believe a few other reefers have their clams with their angels and they’re not bothered. It seems Tridacna species aren’t often predated on by angels whilst the NPS species are more so at risk.
Again, this isn’t 100% set in stone but it seems that 65-70% of the time it works. In your tank, unless you run high light (350-400PAR minimum IME) I’d stick to Tridacna squamosa and Tridacna deresa. These guys love low lighting situations (150-200 PAR but I would aim for closer to 200).
Mine only grow stupidly fast because they’re under higher levels of lighting at 50% alone. 100% would bleach them and the surrounding SPS. I believe my Maxima is under 400-450 PAR and my Deresa is under 300-350 PAR.
I haven’t used one however I am taking estimates from when one was used in the same tank with a very similar structure at full power (the sand alone was getting 600 PAR).have you used a par meter ?
How deep is this tank?I haven’t used one however I am taking estimates from when one was used in the same tank with a very similar structure at full power (the sand alone was getting 600 PAR).
1’ deep. It’s dimensions are 3’x16”x1’ (LxWxH).How deep is this tank?
Ah. No wonder the par. I would leave those clams there. What great dimensions, especially for top down viewing.1’ deep. It’s dimensions are 3’x16”x1’ (LxWxH).
Here’s an FTS plus my most personable fish in there
Yup! The tank is designed to be done top downAh. No wonder the par. I would leave those clams there. What great dimensions, especially for top down viewing.
I never thought only 6 months would show a difference with this girl but dang! Can you spot what makes this guy so much more special than the others I’ve seen?
By the way, the photos aren’t great and have many particles in the photo because I gave them an incredibly heavy feed to disperse aggression.
An Achilles was on the list but I’d rather have a 7’ tank as the room an Achilles takes up removes like 3-4 possibly even 5-6 wrasses or other small fish.get a achilles only concern is a very expensive fish and it could just die on you but u know what ur doing
Not yet, I’ll see Atleast one on Sunday as he’s said he’ll save Atleast one. He’s also getting in hemitaeniatus but… It’s a brown flasher 90% of the time if I’m honest.Did you go look at the Vivien?
Anyone got a spare 8’ tank they can lend?Saw one of these guys at the store today
