Ushio 14k has a huge 420nm spike that is great for coral growth while still having enough of a 450nm peak to cause some good fluorescence, if running by itself. With the XHO going, I think they'd be the perfect compliment to one another. I had planned on running the Ushio 14k for my tank, but they discontinued the 250w bulbs.

Was it DE or SE? I could swear that the de looks more white than the se.
It was de that I saw. I'm in the debating stages of going from by 6 bulb t5 fixture to the 250 reefbrite setup. Still unsure what to do.

It’s a really tough call for me. I have ran t5 more than I have halide, but have experience with both. T5 has the advantage of the best color adjustability and typically less bulky lighting setup. This is of course unless you buy a geisseman spectra.

I have 2 x 400w radium with 2 x 250w 14k Phenix and the color is crispy white instead of xho blue I have lumen bar blue n full spectrum. May be the xho reef Brite is too strong. Have u try to turn it off

Maybe you could borrow a 50/50 XHO and test swapping one of those for 50/50 instead of blue. Hard to give up the Radium considering its track record.

Overdriving the 400w radium will shorten it's lifespan to about 6 months so that can get pretty pricey quick. The ushio 14k is ok but maybe consider the reeflux 10k with the reefbrites.
