It's just a transfer or a 50/50?
So there's old Good live rock in it?
I saw the dry stuff was wet some time ago.

Brown is is an odd thing. I've never gotten brown with that stuff. With nite out yea.

You in the ugly stage of the cycle. Most would suggest a water change to export the nitrates, and phosphates. The carbon will help in bringing down the nitrates. I forgot to ask what your phosphates are.

Ok
Will hook up debary immed with medium flow
Get carbon reactor on
And
Stop dosing ??
You happy with those above nitrites & nitrate ?

And no issues
But yes - female reefer here :)
Such s male dominated hobby sort of get used to it
Happens all the time
will the carbon filter out what you are dosing or is it a bacteria that you are dosing?

I never assume female or male, you have one heck of a reef and that is all that needs to be looked at.

in regards to nitrates, it just balancing out your phosphates with the nitrates. 10 to 20 ppm nitrates are fine if your are running .o3 to .04 phosphates. If you are going to run a ULNS the nitrates need to come down to between 3 and 5ppm and the phosphates to around a trace.

Phos need to come down to .03 to .04 to your nitrates. Find a product that use lanthanum chloride link . Lanthanum chloride need to be dose in the filter socks and it will cloud the system for a hour or so be it will down your phosphates quick and clear the water up bit, then continue running the rowa phos.

To be honest I have 9 Lps corals left out of 140+
Mixed reef
Once this tank settles in I will then concentrate on phos & nitrates
The old tank was uln
And will eventually do the same with this
It's just this dam cycle I can't get my head around with stock
Wish it didn't have to be this way
Not ideal
Thanks everyone for your input & advice
It's very much appreciated

Usually plumbers will take 120 grit sandpaper anywhere thier is a glue contact point to make superior adhesion. This gives microscopic scratches in the pvc and something for the glue to grab onto.. some dont do it but I always do, I hate leaky fittings.. obviously this isnt required for threaded fittings, only slip..

Kinda like art in 4th grade, you had to slip and score the clay![emoji23]

I "watched" this journal just before I went to work (England) this morning when I stumbled across it!
2 hours of my life well spent, chilling with my tank after work and discovering yours.
I nearly wept for you at the seam letting go!
What a fantastic build and I love the scape!
I will be following and watching the progress. :)
