You going to put anything else in there? Or is this mantis shrimp only?
Basically mantis shrimp only. I'm gonna toss 3 yellow tail damsels in there after the cycle. I like them but don't want em in my reef tank and they may be able to survive. I'll also put low light coral or macros in. I'm leaning towards macros. Calurpa and such.

Finally got the cave and rock the way I like. Had to get twice as much sand! Little cloudy but running.

This thread has me on track to starting up my own peacock tank. He's awesome, can't wait to have one myself one day.
Now that she's been here a day I'm pretty sure it's a she.... Not totally sure but working in figuring that out. Glad I'm helping.

The most recent pic. Got the icecap 3k gyre. It's strong! Run it up to 50% max. 3 yellowtail damsels (who may or may not live). Waiting on the skimmer impeller shaft cause mine was broken. Added more rubble. She's been setting it all up how she wants it. Definitely fun to watch her. She ate a couple krill tonight.

Got it all dialed in now... Equipment so far: Tidal 110, reef octopus classic 90, smart ato micro, finnex titanium heater, icecap gyre 3k.

Light bar will be coming off my reef tank when I get my new lights for the reef. Currently using a small 6500k cfl bulb in a garage clip on fixture.

She seems to have made herself at home and fortified her cave. She has taken krill from me.

Kinda hard to see but I moved the tidal to the end and swapped the icecap 3k for an icecap 1k. I was able to fit the 1k under the lip of the tidal so all the equipment fits nice and snug on the end...... Also lost the glass top and am planning to grow mangroves off the top of the rocks. Sorry about some new tank ugliness.

And she molted for the first time!

HDPE plastic board cut and fit in the bottom to prevent an over enthusiastic digger.... Maybe overkill but a little piece of mind.

Where did you get the HDPE plastic board cut? that a Home Depot thing? or thicker and more restaurant supply?
