Yes, I was there a few years ago I need to go back. Nice place.
We didn’t buy anything because they don’t ship but if we lived in Florida we would have bought coral! The employees were really nice and spent time with us even though we told them we weren’t going to buy any live stock. We bought some dry goods there. We did ship coral home from world wide’s retail shop and bought an Alex from Living Reef in Orlando.

Steve do you have any problems with keeping up PH? We have to constantly dose because the windows are closed here most of the year (Wisconsin) we had windows open all April and now AC on. We use Balance for PH but go thru a ton. Today we orders a CO2 scrubber after we closed the windows the PH dropped from 8.1 to 7.7 overnight ( thanks to apex warning we were able to increase doser). We have other pets too so I think our problem is CO2. Any other suggestions for correcting PH. Our alkalinity is usually fine runs on the higher side and ca was 520 this am was 480 a few days ago before ph dropped. We have mostly LPS with a few pieces of SPS that we are trialing. The leathers are amazingly happy all the time! Thanks for your input.

Wow! Amazing. Nicely thought out. Can’t wait until my tank is humming along like yours.

Quick question: I haven’t had time to read through the whole thread here yet but I did see you started out with mostly dead rock and one piece of live to seed it. Any problems early on with nuisance algae? I started with about 1/2 live and 1/2 dead and been having a few problems here lately (9 mos in) with dinos but they seem to be clearing up now. Wondering if the dead rock had anything to do with it.

Lucky no, I never had much of an algae issue. I had some slight cyno but not much.

Great tank! Congrats!

Are you still using the same ReefOctopus calcium reactor? If so, how are you running it (flow, pH, media, effluent Alk)?

I ask because I have that reactor and have a similarly sized and stocked tank and am struggling to keep up with Alk demand.

Yes, I am still using it. Works great. I run it full of media and run the return through my Arid C30 to scrub some of the ph off.
