I got the storage tanks from here... water tanks, plastic tanks, septic tanks

The rock was all dry rock I got from reefrocks.net I used one piece of live rock I picked up locally to seed it.

Thanks Steve,
How did you install the fittings (I.e. the fitting located on the top of the storage tank where the inlet hose from the RO filter to the storage tank?

The water tanks have a pretty big opening in the top. I just drilled hole from the outside to fit the float valve switch and screwed it on. One hand on the inside with the float valve and the other on the outside to screw the nut on.

Question, How do you like that external overflow? I have put in a quote request to ReefSaavy for a 35 gallon nano with an external overflow and just wanted to know how you like yours.

For me it's great. Mine is pretty shallow though due to having two 2" drains. That's not something you could do on a nano.

This might help to deflect the current? Only prob they would get a little pricey just an idea.

if I setup something big like that, the wife probably would ask me to sleep in the garage

It is all about painting the picture of those other things one could have bought instead and how the tank can be enjoyed by the whole family. Then again my wife says I spend too much time with the tank, so then again it is all about balance.

Beautiful tank, definitely an inspiration for my next build.

This station will definitely deflect the flow just enough. Worked for me and now my sand stays put.

Dear Steve
How many pound of Rock and Sand did you use to come up with this wonderful land scape?
