While moving I took the opportunity to trade my almost 3 year old year old 55 gal. for an unfinished 45 gal. rimless cube. I'm very excited to be a part of Clube Cube as my holy grail of tanks is a 90 gal. rimless cube.(I'm half way there) I'll be sharing some of the progress I've made and will be making in the upcoming weeks.

Instead of fabricating the panels for the stand. I purchased kitchen cabinet doors from Ikea to the exact dimensions of the stand.

Door on the right opens 90º (suicide). Door on the left is double hinged allowing me to open just the front panel 90º or open both at the same time gaining access to the left side of the sump. Everything is kept shut with magnets.

Placed all the rock that had corals on them along with the fish. Lost ALL my euphyllia and shrooms during the move. Please disregard my extremely powerful clip on light.

UPDATES: I moved the tank again. Since my last post and the move we welcomed the birth of our son and I've been able to get a few things added to the system;
  • Installed the LED rope light to the underside of the stand.
  • Plumbed an Aqua UV 15w inline using the manifold.

  • Knocked out a DIY screen mesh top/cover (Tutorial here)
  • Was able to hang the Ocean Revive T247 LED light from the ceiling - You get glimpse at the aquascape before a.k.a. during the move and after.

Built the skimmer stand a while back, finally get to share. Can't take credit for the design learned it HERE. Makes all the difference to have the skimmer at the right water level especially now that I'm dosing BioKit Reef from ProdiBio. Anyone have success using it?

Working on an acclimation box this weekend. All the ones I've seen were either too small or too expensive.

Finalizing a trade for a 4 stage RO/DI unit. Figured I needed a larger reservoir as I was using a 5 gallon jug. This puts me at about 25 gallons. Which I can admit I struggle with going to the LFS to get top off water.

It's a nifty container intended for dog food.

Person flaked on the trade. What a disappointment.

Got the biopellet reactor back online. Had to make couple of conversion adapters to run off the manfold. (Previous one had a leak) Using it alongside Microbacter 7 instead of the Prodibio kit I was using previously.

I was able to assemble DIY chaeto reactor from an old phosban reactor I had laying around. Let's see how long before the nitrates fall. Next project is to to raise the PH.

Finished the two week MicroBacter 7 regiment to startup the biopellet reactor. (Two cap fulls a day) The Chaeto reactor is online and growing, parameters are normalizing. Then Murphy decided to pay me a visit during a water change while ripping wire algae off the rocks.

The entire mound collapsed, skull and all, forcing me to rescape. Inspired somewhat by @PupChow aka "Inappropriate Reefer" I built out 4 island like structures including a skull and bones island. What do you guys think?
