Well, we have water. Took me a little time getting the liner in, but it wasn't that bad. I guess my experience setting up shower pan liners back in the day for remodels finally came in hand. Lol.

Looking good. I see you didn’t use pressure treated for the bottom. Your not concerned with moisture from patio possibly rotting your 2x6’s?

Wow, haven't updated this thread in a while. It is however still in the works. After a bout with covid during the holidays, and then just "life" stuff, things got side tracked. In the mean time, the pond has been running, and have been slowly bringing up the salinity.

Scored a good amount of rock this weekend so aquascaping should begin shortly.

looks cool :)
do you have plans for fish if not you could do garden eels
I'm actually trying to do a native habitat. Fish and inverts I can collect down here locally. However I'm sure I'll give in to the odd fish or 2 I've always wanted that I can't keep in my reef tank.

No, not really. The patio doesn't get much water in that area. Not unless there will be a leak in the pond. Which if thats the case, I'll have bigger problems. Lol

Just seeing this thread, but really looking forward to seeing the progression of this build! Totally a dream system

oh I am sure you will. I know I could not control myself.

setting here in R2R...oh look honey, this guys has a 450+ gallon lagoon on his patio... some interest from her...me I guess you can do that when you live in S. flordia not in the mountains.

keep the project going man and post when you have time.

Anyone have any ideas or threads on hollow rock structures? I'm thinking to put a milk crate or two as a hollow structure so and then place the rock on and around that. And that's for 2 reasons, it will allow me to use less rock, and it will also make for a hollow area for the fish to swim through. I don't want to make it look tacky though. Any ideas?

Ok, so I made home headway today. I got most of my rockwork done. Ended up going with a milk crate to support the main island/bommie. That in turn gave me a really nice swim through for the fish. Also, I'm hoping that when the mangroves really start taking off the roots will make their way down through the swim through and it will give me a nice visible mangrove root system down there.

I'm not 100% on the complete aquascape so open up for suggestions.
