50 gallon 36in long tank Nero 3 or Nero 5?

Hi guys,

Like the title says, is 2x Nero 3 enough for a 36in long tank? Or do I need Nero 5?

I just bought 2 Jebao SLW30 but they won't hold on 10mm glass, so I need to find something else

This my tank (at the stage of filling it)

If I read your post correctly you’re deciding between 2 Nero 3 and 1 Nero 5? I’n that case I’d definitely pick 2 Nero 3. I have one and I love it. I don’t think it’s as good as a vortech but it is tremendous value for what you pay and it moves a lot of water. I’ve always been a fan of having multiple smaller power heads rather than one big one

What’s the total tank volume and what coral will you be keeping?

50 gallon (Waterbox aio 50.3)

As for Coral since it's my first reef, only beginner stuff, haven't gotten to the stage of what those will be yet

2 Nero 3s should be enough then. Their lowest setting is more than 10x your water volume

These are Marco rocks, a mix of base rocks (cut flat on one side), shelf rocks, and standard rocks.

I am in Canada so I bought it from reefsupplies.ca

Hi, I have the roughly the same size display as yours (rsr250) and I believe I have just perfected my flow by adding a third nero5. I think 2-3 nero3 would be perfect as I only max my nero5 at 20-30%. I have them set at random independent and my corals are in constant movement from all sides.

I have a question about the Nero 3’s
I have a 60 cube... would 2 Nero 3 be fine for flow and eliminate some of the dead spots.. I currently have a couple SPS and several LPS???

What did you end up going with the 3s or the 5s? I have Gyres on each end currently and absolutely hate the way they look. I am trying to get the smallest footprint powerhead(s) I can but still have enough flow for mixed reef in my reefer 250.

I have a 60 cube I ended up goin with the 2 Nero 3’s.. Just ordered them so not sure how they will perform yet

I have Nero 5s on my IM30 which is 36 inches long and it’s way too strong so I’d get the 3s
