I got a quote from MRC on their PVC sump they are a joke anyone that buys their pvc sump should have their head examined.

so I reached out to my buddy Steve and had him make mine.

same here. AdvancedAcrylics custom PVC sumps were much more reasonable.

Sounds good, I’m almost definite that I will get a sump through them. I’m thinking of hybrid 30” wide x 60 with 3x 1.5 inlets and having a separate fuge like this pic

No manifold from the Abyzz. It’s running just the 2 x 1” sea swirls.

Picked up a few goodies. Also got my Calcium Reactor online. The new Kamoer WiFi came today. (Excuse the wires, that’s the next project and the salt it was for the QT system, I ordered 1 bag Amazon sent 3, and wouldn’t let me return 2 of them they said keep them, it will take me 10 years to use this crappy salt.) Th QT system is online. I upgraded to a Bubble King 160 for the QT system. Also got my phyto and pod order from Algae Barn. The Fridge arrives Monday I am going to drill it and dose Live Phyto and Coral Vitalizer from ZEOvit.

I wish I could afford an Abyzz pump. That's just not going to happen for a while. I still don't know how I'm going to power my closed loop.

It's amazing how our displays are pretty similar in size, mine is 18" wider, but the setups will be quite a bit different. I'm still trying to keep an eye on your build for any pointers I can pick up along the way. I need to start a build thread soon. The stand should be ready next week and I'm going to try and get the sump room floor sealed this weekend.

You need to stop by some time when you're on your brothers side of town.

Fridge came, had some time today to install it, drill the hole (thankfully didn’t hit anything important) moved all the dosers, etc. I’m going to move them all again when I rewire everything. I am waiting on $200 worth of 1’, 6’, and 10’ extension cords to really do it properly. They are supposed to arrive Monday.

Upgraded to a Bubble King 300 Deluxe, the 200 Deluxe was doing good but I plan on adding at least another 30-40 fish to the systems so I didn’t want to stress losing fish, etc. the 200 is packed up and heading to a fellow R2R’er he too us upgrading from a small BK. Seems like once you go BK you can’t go anything else.

The fridge is cooling down, I’ll move all of the phyto tomorrow. I’ll be dosing 41ML a day with the first 1ml being waste as it will die in the line. I’m not too worried about it at this point.

How quiet are the Kamoers? Are they rated for continuous duty?

Deadly quiet you can’t hear it’s Peristaltic so just like in a hospital room.
Their dosers are just as quiet maybe a little noise but I can’t hear them!

Nice updates.

I plan to do the same fridge Phyto dosing once I have the coral base to justify the dosing. I’m currently/ sporadically brewing a couple gallons of nano that I use to feed pod cultures (to support several future mandarins and scooters) and input a couple hundred mls of left overs into the DT. Once I have a sustained need for the phyto, I’ll scale up to a couple gallons a week.

not sure how I’ll deal with dead space in the lines, or if I’ll even really care. Given how long it’ll be sitting in there It’s not likely to grow a contaminant organism (I’d be dosing 12 times a day)

Your build looks great. I am in the planning stage of a 465 gallon system (300 display, 90 frag, plus 75 gallons in the sump). I am also wanting to use a bubble king deluxe, but I can’t decide between the 200 or the 250, I am a fish guy so it will be heavily stocked. Which would you choose if you were in my shoes?

Thank you :)

If you run a lot of fish like me. Go bigger. The 250 gives you basically unlimited options on fish. And allows you add more tanks in the future!
