Nice build, don't let others stress you on time. I took about 9months to build my current dt from the day the acrylic came to rocks in tank . Build is half the fun :)
I have the next one rattling around my head already once my pool house / office is done the next build will be over 1100 gallon DT.

That looks awesome. I’m jealous. What size magus curve is that? I’ve heard good things about them I’m on the fence about trying the curve 12 or the reef octopus 300 12”. I also need to build a wider sump I have enough 24” pieces left to build a 60x24x18 sump. I also need to build another quarantine rack but nobody had acrylic right now.

Sorry for the late response. I'm currently racing away trying to get my new sump filled and plumbed in lol. The new one is a 96x24x18, so roughly 180 gallons in size and 150 gallons used volume.

It's the curve 12. I absolutely love it, it's for the most part quiet as far as huge skimmers go and it hasn't let me down at all. I actually haven't even cleaned it in the past five months.

I’ve got the curve 7 running on my fish quarantine system and have been really happy with it. I think I’ll give the 12 a shot. This weekend I’ll be snaking RO tubing from the garage mixing station to the basement.

Mock ups of the scape. The wood is the same footprint as the tank. it started as a peninsula but then the saint (wife) saw how far it went in to the room. So now it’s on the back wall like a standard aquarium but the scape will remain as it is........for now. But I’m sure every person on this site has been here.

Glad to hear everyone is happy with the Curve series skimmers. About to pick myself up a Curve 7 I think, never bought one before.

100% Caribsea Liferock there’s about 180 pounds in it I bought 200 but the shapes and the mega arch 24” create a lot of negative space and I was concerned with flow around the rock structure. I would absolutely recommend and use the Liferock again.

Got the 12 yesterday and it’s a beast of a skimmer I hope it works as well as it looks.

It looks great - I’m leaning toward using it on my upcoming 400. Did you go with a mix of types along with the mega arch or did you mostly use the shapes type?

I started to assemble the stand skins today. I still need to tack in moldings around the apex board on the left and place the DOS board on the right. The canopy boards are drying in the workshop and I’ll start assembling that in the morning. I’m planning to use drawer slides for the T5 and kessil lights. The new sump is mocked up in the workshop 48x30x18 and a 16x30x18 fuge. I’ll post more pictures tomorrow. I also need to post pics of the 144”x60”x2” sheets I scored. So much for this being my last tank.

The tang gang is in. I added 6 yellow tangs 1 powder brown, 1 powder blue, 1 purple tang, 1 orange shoulder, and 1 blue eye. In Quarantine are 3 convict tangs, 1 giant Blond Naso, 1 lg gem tang, and 1 Lg Dussmuri.

Still planning out the rest
- 12 Ventralis Anthias
- 4 Bella Gobies
- Pair of Bluejaw triggers
- Orange tail Emperor Angel
- Regal Angel
- Bandit Angel
- Golden dwarf moray
- Pair of Flame Wrasse

I’m open to suggestions on some of the more obscure reef fish. It’ll be predominantly SPS but I’ll try some LPS and zoos and see if the Emperor doesn’t develop a taste for them before diving in fully. If he does he’ll move to the soon to be finished 1,150.

So nice, jealous of a big tank like that and able to add all those nice large tangs. I would look into more fairy wrasses too. I love mine. Golden rhomboid, flame (like you said), pintails are underrated, lineatus. labbouti

The streamers on those nasos are georgious!
Love the build so far. A few flasher wrasses (I like mccosker's, carpenters, blue, filamented, diamond tail, half banded, and bell's), some pyramid butterflys, and you can't go wrong with leopard wrasses and dragonettes once you get some maturity, for a few ideas ;)

Work has been hectic so we’ve had some fish I. Quarantine for longer than I originally thought but the tang gang has settled down a bit and the pecking order has been established. The powder blue and orange shoulder are running the show. I also added the gem tang, clown tang, a marine betta and a bonded pair of Melenarius wrasse as well as a couple Red Sea cleaner wrasse. Still trying to track down a school of ventralis anthias.

I also switched to the Red Sea 160s I’m pleasantly surprised by their performance. Now I’m just contemplating on buying Orphek led strips or staying with T5s for additional lighting.

Where I’m spending more time at the dealership than my house I ordered a tank for my office 130x60x42” I haven’t had a glass tank in a long time so I’m excited to work on it.
