I have a 55G aquarium that I am thinking about setting up in my office at work. I am thinking for stocking as a FOWLR. The List that I am considering are as follows: 1XFlame Angel, 2XOccelaris Clowns,1X Yellow Eyed Kole Tang and 1X Bluehead Wrasse. I am not looking to overstock this tank at all. I have tried to stay on the smaller side for most of these fish. I have had successful saltwater tanks in the past. Just looking for advice or suggestions.

Definitely too small for the tang. Other fish seem like great choices though.

I would skip the blue head wrasse, they tend to get aggressive, get a fairy or flasher wrasse instead. If you’re looking blue fish, try some blue dartfish(gudgeons), they’re peaceful & good color

Get an African Midas Blenny. I had one and it was a beautiful fish. The African ones have a more "golden" color instead of yellow. I also had a Kole tang that I loved but it was in a 100g, Very friendly fish. He was an active swimmer but only occasionally used the 4' length of the tank and preferred to hang out in one spot with the other fish. Years ago I had a FOWOLR and had a puffer, a clown trigger and a couple of lion fish. That was a very nice tank and it was 55 gallons.

That is why i had the Kole Tang on the list because they are one of the smaller tangs and it is a 4' tank and they are not as active as the larger tangs it seems. I was looking at the African Midas Blenny

!!! Welcome to R2R @KYFishman !!! I think that stock list will be fine. Don't forget to make your Build Thread to keep track of your progress.

Thanks @spyder813. I planned on it but wanted to get some advice on the stock list a head of time.

Only problem will be the tang for that size tank when it reach its maximum size. The 55g is about 12"s wide and the recommended size is 70g minimum. A 75g will be good because is 21" width.

I have a 125G African Cichlid tank that I will be transitioning to SW after i get all of the occupants traded off. Was thinking about QTing the tang in the 55G until the 125G is cycled and ready to go.

Oh ok. That's a lot better. Then in a 125g you can definitely add more fish.

Yeah, that was the plan as using the 55G as a QT of sorts for a few of those fish on that list and then moving the ones over to the 125G when it was setup.

The tang would probably be the last fish added. Which means probably 4 to 6 months after tank is cycled. Plenty of time to get the other tank ready first. I'm guessing by then you'll be more interested in coral or other tangs that a 125g will accomodate.

I am more interested in the fish aspect of it but wouldn't say no to a few of the more hardy corals like GSP, Pulsing Xenia, or some Zoa's.

Everyone dips their toe in the water before they jump into the pool. Once you have 1 it becomes an obsession. Beauty / disaster of coral is that you can have as many as space will allow
