NEW BUILD STARTS ON PAGE 4, POST #62 .
Hello All,

I've been awaiting an injury to heal in order to start a build thread with a standard 120 gallon drilled on the short side peninsula-style.
Despite all my efforts currently, I've decided to go ahead with what I had laying around. So this begins with a 40 Breeder and a 29 gallon tank as a sump.
I started out with a Synergy Reef Ghost overflow ( again, this was for a 120 ) and drilled out the necessary holes on one of the short sides of the breeder.

Considering what I'm going through physically and financially I've opted to use a Coral Box DCA-3000 for a return pump. This pump has the low flow sensor to automatically shut off the return in the water goes to low. Picture and link to video: https://photos.app.goo.gl/4rm3bBNYiKp8r5886

I have 50lbs. of MarcosRock, 1 1/2", 1", and 3/4" Red PVC, and some Uni-seals for a mixing station on Friday. On Saturday, all of the necessary schedule 80 fittings will be here. I chose to go with Cepex Ball valves. One 1" for the adjustment of the drain and two 3/4" for the manifold. I'll post up some pictures when I dry fit everything. Also, I had originally built a stand for a 120 and now will chop it up to accommodate the 40 Breeder, Stay tuned!

Got some lumber today.

If you don't already have one of these Kreg Jigs, go buy one immediately.

Standard 36 L x 18 W x 36 H 2 x4 stand. I'll skin this at a later date. Going to work on plumbing the tank tomorrow.

Started gluing some plumbing, need to take a break as the fumes are unbearable even with windows and fans on. Don't ever remember the usual purple primer smelling as strongly as the clear. Oh well, live and learn.

So today, after my workmans comp cancelled all future physical therapy appointments I was pretty aggravated. My Dad loaded this 29 gallon tank up on milk crates for me so I quickly painted the trim. My whole build consists of red and grey. Friday, when my check comes, I'm going to order some red acrylic and weld-on for baffles. Little by slow this build has me excited.

Thanks! I am following this. I’m curious to see how this comes out, because I want to show the Mrs, it’s similar to what I want to do. Maybe a 40 B, maybe a somewhat longer tank.

A used 100 watt heater and a cadlights refugium light. No pics of those. I have a wake and funeral this week, my favorite Uncle passed away but I'll get back on this build shortly thereafter.
