Hey guys, just wondering if you guys think clowns would get beat up by my 6 line wrasse if I added a couple clowns in? He’s aggressive towards snails when I try adding them but wondering if other fish would be ok before I spend more money.
thanks!

Clowns can usually handle their own. You could add the clowns using an acclimation box to be safer.

What is the tank size?

I used to have a 29gal biocube that houses a pair of clown, a six line and cherub angel. They live peacefully for almost five years until I break down the tank. Note that my pair lay eggs consistently.

I had 2 clowns in mine and I added the 6 line after. After about 2 or 3 weeks, my 6 line was trying to kill them both. Had to rehome him and had to take out all my rock work just to catch him

I have a 29 gallon tank with a pair of 13 year old percs which lay eggs frequently and bite me. They have lived with two six lines and I have never seen any aggression in either direction. My current six line I've only had for maybe a year or two.

My old Six line tried to bully my clowns. Clowns held their own and the wrasse moved on. They are tougher than they look.

Had a 6 line and 2 clowns in my 28 JBJ AIO years ago with zero issues. Sometimes it’s the luck of the draw. You could have 100 people with the same type of fish that is perfect and then you get the one that’s nothing but problems.

Thanks. I’m planning out a 6-line and was just wondering if the aggression to clowns may be related to space. I’m hoping one would be fine in my RSR 750, which has an ocellaris pair, along with a lot of vermetid snails and bristle worms I’m hoping the 6-line would help eradicate. Plus the 6-line just looks cool.
