I am new into the hobby of reef keeping but back in the day i had a 90 fish only salt tank and loved it. So, here goes on a reef build. I started with a Deep Blue 60 rimless tank. A vortech mp10 ,Trigger systems sump/refugium, and a Reef octopus skimmer. AquaticLife 6 bulb T5HO light. I had a Iwaki pump from my last tank so I am going to use it. I purchased Dry rock from MarcosRocks and waiting till it gets here. Here are some pictures.

Well the rock arrived from Marco's and I started building the structure. Let me know what you think of the design? I have looked at tons of pics and this is what I came up with.

Daily Maintenance for a 60 gallon build

Hi,

Just curious to know how much time on a daily basis a build this size requires? Is it feasible to travel 1-3 days at a time with a reef tank?

Thanks

Chris

Looking like you are off to a good start, one thing I would suggest is to leave enough room between the rock and the glass so that you can clean the glass easily.

Ok, good idea I will move the rocks from the glass. Getting excited. I still need to do the plumbing for the sump and fill it up and start the cycle:bigsmile:

To be honest I am not too sure this will be my first try at a reef. I had a 90 gallon fish only tank about 20 years ago. Now with the power of the internet I hope I will have an easier time with the tank with all the info floating around.

Welcome. Very nice looking tank and sump. I too recommend you move the rocks a bit to leave room for cleaning and if at all possible try hanging the lights so that their not so close to the surface and in the way when trying to get in the tank. lastly since its your first crack at a reef, I would really recommend getting dosers for 2-part and try to automate things with an apex or reefkeeper and auto top off. It will make things a lot easier for you. Good luck and welcome again. God bless.
