Hi everyone,
I just purchased a 600W BRS heater with an ink bird controller. I set up the devices and it ran for a couple of hours l, then tripped the breaker. I reset the breaker just thinking it may be a fluke and it kicks the breaker as soon as the heater power plug touches the ink bird plug in. It does the same if I try to plug the heater straight to the oulet. I have tried on multiple outlets on different breakers. Any ideas of what is going on?

By breaker do you mean on the GFCI or at the electrical panel?
And what kind of breaker is on that circuit?

Could be a faulty GFCI or a bad breaker.

Shouldnt be pulling 15+ amps

It kicks the 2 different gfci outlets that I’ve tried, and kicked a breaker on one without gfci. One of the gfci is 15 amp and the other is 20 amp. The outlets work with my 400w heater.

Yea it may be shorting out when the controller activates the heater.
Agreed with faulty heater if you tried it on 2 seperate circuits that arent overloaded.

I agree that it's an internal issue of the heater. Sounds like something is grounding out inside of it.

how long did you own the heater, I just had 2 Bulk Reef Supply heater elements die within 6 months, I am wondering if they are tracking this and fix this problem, I posted a new post today on this.
