Geeze why are you/petco so far. They have them here but they want twice as much for one.

Bit of a tank update. I decided to go nuclear on the cyno... after raising nitrates and phosphates, it would waste away a bit then come back. I was not liking the yo-yo effect as I know they were consuming the nutrients I was dosing. The cyno also decided to cover some of my corals. So chemiclean time.

Worked amazingly, although skimmer not quite back to normal yet. Also added some carbon to help eliminate whatever might be left. I'm keeping a close eye on the nitrates and phosphates as I don't want those to zero out again. Might get the dreaded dinos. Time will tell.

The funny or sad thing is, after I started dosing, I noticed I finally started getting some coraline algae and now I know this is all because my nitrates and phosphates were too low. I never imagined I would have too much nutrient export.

Also added a midas blenny and algae blenny. (I know, I don't need a algae blenny with no algae but the wife likes how he perches on the rocks.)

What are you dosing out of curiosity ?
Nitrate - NeoNitro
Phosphate - NeoPhos
Alk, Cal, Mg - BRS 2 part

The alk, cal, mag has been very minimal as I just don't have very much demand on those yet.

Tank is ~125
Still working out the nitrate and phosphate.

Nitrate:
Was dosing 20 ml/day and seeing very minimal gains. Finally got it to ~6 ppm so going to try and hold it there. I'm testing 5 ml a day.

Phosphate:
Was dosing 5 ml/day and saw some gain. Stopped a few days and it bottomed out. My guess is my rock is soaking it up.
I'm at about ~.03ppm so I'm going to try and hold it steady there. Hoping 2.5ml will do it.

Nice. I recently started dosing NeoNitro as well. I never thought I’d ever have to dose nitrates haha.

Ended up snagging the AquaMaxx 22. Not sure on location yet but this will be home to the yellow tang for a bit while it finishes quarantine. I might end up making it my coral tank. The footprint is a lot nicer than the cube 20.

Are you going to treat the tang with copper in that tank?

No. It’s in copper right now in a separate tank. The most ill dose in this tank is general cure.
Gotcha just wanted to make sure you weren’t going to make a mistake if you wanted coral later lol

Well, I'm horrible at documenting everything I've done. I think a camera crew would have to follow me around as I do stuff here and there all day lol. I have the tank/system running and heating up :) There is a dedicated apex tablet next to the tank. 4 leak sensors installed around the tanks and sump. I have 8 fish in qt in 3 seperate tanks. Also going to be finishing my stand, canopy and I'm sure plenty of other stuff lol. Here's some pics!

You had the the right question. I just meant finishing as in completing. I'll be painting the stand and trim white, I think... Thank you, getting there :)

Top Back: Unamed, PC Rainbow (kind of hidden behind HW), WWC Yellow Tip

Also have a bucket of rock curing, going to fill in the back-middle/right side a bit for more coral room. The mirror window tint on the left is to reduce some aggression between my potter angel and tomini tang.

Canopy test with one light. Wire won't be visble. Canopy will be a little lower & stand still not finished but getting there :) One of these days I'll update my build thread lol
