Hello Reefers,

I am here to share with you my new project that i hope to start in the next month when i move to my new house.
After some weeks of research i ended up ordering the new TMC aquarium, ReefHabitat 90 (230L/60G) with a very cool pack of equipments that with a good sale price. Here is everything:

Aquarium: Reef Habitat 90 (230L/60G) (90cmx50cmx60cm/ 36"x20"x20") with ultraclear glass, cabinet, pipes and sump.
Skimmer: TMC ReefSkim 500 Pro DC
Lights: Pair of Photon 84w with stands ( this bulbs are controllable with REEF-Photon app by bluetooth, very nice )
Return: TMC ReefPump 2000L/H (530G/H)
Heater: TMC V2Therm 200w
Starter Pack by TMC: This pack includes 10Kg (22pounds) of TMC Reef Salt, TMC All-for-reef (250ml), TMC Nitribiotic (25ml), TMC Hidrometer, TMC acclimation kit and TMC Test Kit

Those are all the equipments that are sold in a package with the aquarium.
For my project i am thinking to add this:

Circulation Pump: Jebao SLW-20 10000L/H (2640G/H) (for now just one pump but in the future add one more)
Sand: I want max 1 inch so i will put Caribsea AragLive Hawaiian Black or Fiji Pink in a package of 9kg (20 pounds)
Rock: Marco Rock 15KG (33 pounds)
ATO: D-D Compact ATO
Temperature Control: D-D Heating&Cooling
Dosing Pump: Jebao Wifi Dosing Pump

Here a picture of my future Reef:

So Reefers, i would like to know what you think. Did i make a good equipment choice? All your opinions are welcome.

Regards and stay safe,

Ricardo

Just be careful of black sand. Sometimes it is magnetic. When you use an algae scraper, the black sand, if magnetic, will attach to the scraper and then you scratch your glass

Well reefers,

After almost 3 months i can say that the project is on his way!
I am having a boom algae and some problems!

- Salinity 1019!!! Incredible but that is happening, but i know the problem and i am correcting it!
- KH is in somewhere between 5.7 and 6.1, very low!!
- Other parameter are going to normal in a reef with 2 months old
- I don't like my sump! It is too big for my cabinet and the space is not well apropriated. I am thinking in chaging to a custom sump, like TMC REEF SUM M!

- After one month i've added a pais of captive clowfishes that are well!
- Past week i've had :
  1. Bicolor Blenny
  2. Tomini Tang ( SMALL!!!! )
  3. Peacock Wrasse
  4. Sleeper blue dot gob
  5. Lysmata amboinensis
Also added 3 mini frags of Zoanthus!

So right now, 6 fishes, 1 shrimp e 3 corals! Also a big cleaning crew! ( Astreas, Trochus, Sea Star, Turbos, Nassarius, Cerithes.. )

I would love to put some pics, but it's so ugly right now with the algae boom!

Regards,

Ricardo

Hello reefers,

today was maintenance day.

30% water change and parameters test:

- ph 8,4
- kh 6,5 (low!!)
- nitrate 0,2 ppm
- phosphate 0,02 ppm
- calcium 270 (low!!)
- magnesium 1305
- temperature 23,9 celsius

Any ideia to get this algae off? Cleaning the sand? If so, how is the best cleaning method of the sand?

- after 2 and half months I have : 2 clown fish, 1 tominienses, 1 blue star leopard wrasse, 1 bicolor Blenny, 1 Diamond watchman Goby, lysmata amboinensea, 3 zoanthus frags.

the zoanthus look like this? What is the problem? Low light? Should I put them in a upper lever of the tank? They almost in the sand

Give me some clues!

thank you

I will make some improvements:

1st: put all the controllers outside the cabinet
2nd: install an dosing pump
3rd: put some midia in the sump compartment (my LFS will help me in this point)
4th: put the electricity plug inside the cabinet with all plugs identified
5th: I need to put the balling dosing contents and I don’t know where! I don’t have space in the sump!
