so thought it was about time i started posting my progress. *warning i spell everything horribly im sory in advance :D*
i started out with a 10 gallon tank i was going to get ready for seahorses and some how it started to get zoa's and frogspawn :p so i decided reef tank was the way to go instead. i had all the basic start up ishuses within my first 3 months on my 10 gallon but i refused to spend that much money on a filter for a nano so i started to upgrade :D.

i still need to add 40lb's of rock but my tank is minimal at best im manly focused on getting more flow more rock more pods and algae control.

im a big DIY'er so most of what i do is all about being cheep and right. Before i add or do anything to my tank i read up on it which has saved me countless times. (come home from the store with pvc and silicone ready to make my first overflow cut everything hop on internet to double check on pvc type and silicone just to face palm to the fact silicone wont work on pvc.) its always worth having and using the internet at every step.

basic build right now is
1 auto pvc overflow 3/4"
1 auto pvc overflow 1/2"
one pond pump rated 398gph =return from sump
5 gallon bucket with 20lb's reef live sand and 10 mangroves.
20 gallon sump with live rock for algae growth, bare bottom for ez clean up.
40gallon hob to help cycle and start mangroves, "will turn it into a ez to empty to help remove debris)
8x 2ft t5's (need to replace bulbs but they do the trick for now)

ill be adding more info over the next few days such as my numbers and more flow info
