Welcome to R2R

Tank looks great. That a nice list of corals and fish.
How has the six line wrasse been with other tank mates? They are one of my favorite wrasse.

Thanks! The wrasse chased the tang when I first put the tang in, but things have calmed down. He picks things off the rocks all the time, probably factoring into the reason that I don’t have many pests. He gets his fair share of food, one of two of the fish that eat directly from my hand. He eats frozen and pellets.

The tank looks great and welcome to R2R as well!

And we like pictures on here lol

Thanks. Lol

Looks like a great system! Welcome to the forum!

Thanks, hopefully will post updates often.

Amazing tank! Two questions... how big is it and what power heads/wave makers are you using?

The tank is a 65g reef-ready tank. The sump is the smallest trigger systems crystal series. About 15g? Currently I only have the return and a hydor koralia pump for water flow. I hopefully will be adding a rpm reversible pump from reef breeders and taking out the hydor koralia. I am really excited about it!

Working on additives, what do you guys use to measure out additives in grams? Like a kitchen scale or something?

Also Parameters from today:
Salinity: 35ppt, 1.026
Temp: 80 F
Alk: 8.0 dkh (perfect)
Calcium: 400ppm (low!)
Magnesium: 1380ppm (I like to keep it a 1450...)
NO3: 0.75ppm
PO4: 0.03ppm

I have a jewelers digital scale for chemicals. It goes to 0.01 grams. I use the kitchen digital scale at 1 gram readout for salt.

This looks beautiful! Mind if I Message you with some questions as they come up OP? I have the same 65G tank. I'm kind of curious at what angles you are creating flow for this size and shape tank.

Would you mind posting the link if you have one. I was looking on Amazon yesterday.

Thanks! Sure, flow will be changing soon because I’m buying a reef power rpm soon but I’ll be glad to help.

Should work fine I suppose. Does not need to be too fancy. FWIW, to spot test any digital scale I tend to use coins since they are usually handy.

Penny 2.50 g
Nickel 5.00 g
Dime 2.27 g
Quarter 5.67 g

So, my torch died of brown jelly (I think) in two days. Ready to start syphoning off of any infected corals, but luckily nothing else is affected yet. All parameters are good and all other corals look amazing. Here is a pic, is this brown jelly?
There was brown slime on it.
