I posted yesterday about my frustration watching a guy buy a brown banded cat shark for his 75 gallon aquarium from a LFS. It amazes how people constantly try to stock their tanks with animals or combinations of animals that it’s blatantly obvious aren’t going to work out smh.

You do you. Everyone has an opinion, I've seen tons of tangs in tanks and do well. The issue will be the Achilles powders and sohol in my opinion. You'll have 12 tangs in a tank if you keep the powders and Achilles.

Add two Vlamingis and another Sohal and call it a day...

All joking aside, if this is a serious post, that is a pretty beefy stocking list and probably a recipe for disaster. Scrap two of the Hippos, the Sohal, one of the Nasos, and swap out one of the powders with a convict. As far as the two Zebrasoma species go, the Gem should be a model citizen, but the purple will be a little devil as it matures. There will be some aggression between the two.

8 feet by two feet tank. 2 gyres and 2 mp40s. Should I get mp60s instead? Mixed reef tank.

Stock list:

Gem tang
Purple tang
3 Hippo tangs
2 Naso tangs
Sohal tang
Yellow eye kole tang
Achilles tang
Powder brown
Powder blue
Cowfish
Emperor angelfish
Lamark angelfish
Moorish idol
Yellow tail tamarin wrasse
Hawkfish
7 clownfish

All will be added at the same exact time. Am I crazy? Plenty of hiding spots in the tank. All fish quarantined. Planning to upgrade to a ten foot tank in about 2 years
too many hippos imo. Only one between the Powder blue, powder brown and achilles. Sohals are aggressive af. way, WAY too many clownfish.Otherwise you stock list is fine. Add some wrasses in place of that.

And I thought I was crazy with considering adding 20 fish in a 6ft. Not to be that one guy but rehome some of those ASAP.

IF anyone cares-
Boxfish
foxface
chelmon rostratum
bannerfish trio
Gymnothorax enigmaticus
macropharyngodon meleagris
Cirrhirablus aquamarinus
yellow tail tamarin
leopard toby
regal angelfish
zebra eel
ribbon eel
bellus angelfish
Harlequin tuskfish
PBT or scopas tang.

I will have, heavy, HEAVY export on this tank. Im talking 400g worth of skimming, chemical filter and ALOT of LR + 20% tri weekly Wc, which should give some insight on this monster of a tank.

I added a few at a time and had to pick the ones that I knew were the dominant species as the larger size. My real challenge was only adding working on getting the gem / yellow / purple tang to get along. The gem was always the alpha of the tank so that was added last and the yellow and purple was added when they were of a smaller size.

If i added 2 would it spread aggression so they wouldn't be so Peed off
That is what I would do. Add 2 tangs so it will disperse aggression and what I found what helps as well is add the tank during the night pitch dark and then add a mirror so when they wake up the aggressive ones will go after their reflection.

It wont hurt the tangs but I had to leave one mirror up for 2 days and once I took it out the other tang I was adding had already settled in.

How did you start the GSP up the wall?

How did you start the GSP up the wall?
This is easy. Just lean a GSP rock against the wall and it will grow up from there. Once a piece attached, cut it off and move to rock to the next place. After a few move, you will have GSP cover growing up the back wall. You can really easy cut these GSP to small squares and put them on tiles and bring them to LFS. They are easily cut and removed from glass.
