I am planning using conduit to hang a T5 fixture over my tank. I have an IM Nuvo 40 EXT with the APS stand. I would like to mount the conduit to the stand using 80/20 fittings. Has anyone used 80/20 fittings on a IM APS stand? If so, pictures would be great. Thank you!

Hesitant to reply as I don't know what dimensions the channels of the APS are, but you seem to be stuck at the bottom of the "Unanswered threads" for a few days now. So instead of using fittings, have you thought of drilling some holes through the stand and using longer bolts with fender washers to mount some extruded aluminum sticks directly to the stand?

Did you have any luck with this method? I’ve seen that someone has in the past successfully done this. I think the only difficulty would be to initially determine the correct 8020 size that accommodates the APS channels.

I was able to make to the hardware store today and picked up the 80/20 t-nut. They only had the 15 series, but I took a picture of how it fits in the APS stand. Sorry, picture is a little blurry.

I bought 10 series and 40 series. I had thought dimensionally the 10 series was the right fit, and was surprised how well the 40 series t nuts fit.

The 40 series is the best fit in my opinion, but as I attach any hardware I’ll see if that changes.

I specifically bought and will be using roll-in t nuts.

Received some 80/20 inside corner brackets that I am repurposing to mount conduit to. I think they are going to work out well. I stayed with the 15 series, but I would have liked to try the 10 and 40 series as well.

We have the same tank.

I'm trying to do the same thing as you.

How did you attach the 80/20 fittings to the APS stand?

Thanks
