Im in the process off installing an aquatic life 24” T5 hybrid to my Hydra 52HD. I’m Making a DIY Wall mount. FYI my tank sits 6” off my wall, more than the normal. Here’s the start, making brackets and a mounting board. I only trust studs! Drywall anchors worry me!

I like how you seem to have been taking it nice and slow, all the way through. But I must say my favorite picture is it coming out of the lift gate truck. I always wonder what the neighbors must think?!?! Lol!

Finally have the hybrid in place. I still plan on hiding the power wires, to give it the look 100% floating look. I only have the Hydra 52 HD currently running. Once I hide the wires I plan on starting the T5 bulbs 1 hour daily on two bulbs, and then increase the photo period slowly until I get all four T5 bulbs running to the needed time period.

I finished the 24” LED/T5 combo. My bulb combo is one blue plus, one true actinic, one purple plus, and one coral plus. The LED is a Hydra 52 Hd. I’m wanting to run the T5 bulbs four to five hours daily. The LED is on dust to dawn about 12 hours. All LEDS are run at 50% or less with the exception of the blue LEDS that run around 80%. I’m slowly ramping the T5 bulbs in by adding one hour every seven days or so. I started at one hour.

I need thoughts on adding a CO2 scrubber. I was going to add the BulkReef Supply CO2 scrubber, and plum élan out of my stand. My pH is always around 7.8 it does change in the winter by a few points. Never makes it to 8.

My skimmer is running in 9 inches of water which is the max for the skimmer. My skimmers is a Deltec 1000 IX. I decided to make me a homemade skimmer stand and raise the skimmer to 6 inches water height. Zip ties, egg crate,pvc...

Skimmer is working much better now. I got the water height at 6 inches. Should be maintenance free for at least a month with the skim mate waste container. I’ll post updated pics.

All the frags on the left rack are rescued. That’s why they’re so pale in color. One of my buddies was moving we took the frags to save them. Supposedly some nice acro’s! We’ll see what they turn into.

Installed the BulkReef Supply CO2 scrubber. Connected to my skimmer air intake. I’m running the normal way. If the media does not last long I will switch to the recirculating method.
