Hi I have been a member for a number of years but have never posted. Well I setting up a new tank and figured this was as good time as any.

The tank is a 80g deep blue shallow reef tank 48x24x16 that I got used. I have had the tank for 2 years now waiting to be set up. I didn’t get a stand with the tank when I got it. After looking around for a stand I found out the cheap ones scared me on how long they would last. And the expensive ones were just to far out of my price range. So I decided to build one.

I have made some good progress. I have been at it about a month. I have been able to start some of the plumbing. Also get the apex mounted to its panel.

The painted panel there is a tester I did to make sure it would look the way I want. Grey is the color the stand is going to be.

Little more progress today. Hopefully I will have the stand in primer tonight. Got most of the plumbing mocked up.

I’m planning on running a hybrid set up using t5’s and 2 xr15’s. My original plan was 4 xr15’s on a staggered pattern. But I think that might be a little over kill

Nice. I am setting up the same tank and went with the aquatic hybrid.
