Are tou being lazy and sleeping in? lol

anytime is fine. I rented a duct lift to help and we have 9 folks coming to lift as well
I did sleep in and I am being lazy. Can't say I've slept all that great lately so I took full advantage!

Smart... very smart!

Oh, I did give some thought to your snail/overflow issue. Without modifying the intake portion or placing coarse sponges into the bulkheads, I came up with nothing. If it were me, I might give a go at the sponges to see how often they would need to be cleaned. Cheap and easy possible solution. I know you're not big on adding more maintenance and I do not blame you one bit!

Give @dantimdad a punch in the throat, er, um, a hug from me when you see him.

Now that I can get the snails out of the return section easily enough, its a non issue for me. I do appreciate you giving it some thought though!

Umm... you can hug Steve yourself.... I'll settle for shaking his hand. ;):p

I have to thank everyone who showed up and made this go very, very smoothly. We even drilled one of the tanks right in the middle of the move!

Here they are:

Sorry that one is really blurry!

Then, some more folks showed up to see the progress and lend a hand.

@Brew12 helped me knock out the bulkward around the shark pool in under and hour. Then Ryan and I drywalled. We will make the top and put in trim tomorrow.

It's going to look incredible!

Steve Starnes also helped move the platform into place after helping cut the foam under the tanks and set them.

At one point, there were 3 Steves there and a total of 4 Steves throughout the day. Uhm.... I don't know how I feel about that.

Again, thanks to everyone who helped out!

Thanks for having me over, just sorry I missed all the tank moves. The place is coming along extremely well! The store is going to be amazing!

I got the corner trim made and put on the shark pool surround. Cut the huge circle out of the top of the pool surround and hung the channel for part of the holding tank leds

First I had to make a large trammel for the router:

Then I took the two halve of the cover and clamped them together on saw horses and set the center point and radius and cut the arc in three passes:

Anyone need two semi circles of MDF?

Next up came a test fit on the pool surround:

A little trimming and we can attach it to the framing.

This is the channel setup for the LEDs in the holding room:

I brazed two lengths of channel together twice that gives me 4 meters above the top row of holding tanks.

I will cover the entire length of the lower level due to shadowing.

I am currently waiting on the soldering iron to heat up to connect to lengths of led strip with a 12" jumper wire.

I wish I wasn't sick so I could get more done. Really aggravates me.

Thanks bud!

I went to bed at 8 last night. I am feeling much better this morning. Just have aches and pains.

Wednesday is door day! I am also going to finish the construction work on the pool surround so it's ready for paint.

Your MDF could be cut in 2" sections to make wave patterns for some dimensional art. I could see doing a 3D wave/fish piece.

OK, after everything else is done, this sounds like a fun project! I will order an arc template set for the router and have some fun!

Thanks for the idea.

I forgot to tell what my friend Kerry's husband said Saturday. Keep in mind, they don't own an aquarium... yet!

"With the level of detail you are going to, even if you sold nothing at all, you could charge admission!"

This made me feel like all the hard work, blood, sweat and tears were worth every second. No, it's not a museum, it's a fish store and the livestock is the attraction not the store. But, given some of the LFS I have seen, I am glad the look of the store is appreciated.
