Just wanted to say thank you and goodbye to all the Hudson Valley reefers , great people, great meetings. So I had to move down south to Georgia. I decided to bring my fish with me ! I was lucky enough so far to transport my tank inside the back of my SUV , and the cabinet and sump strapped down to a small trailer hitch, along with 40 pounds of new gravel rinsed . and inside 3-40 gallon Rubbermaid’s with live rock and clown fish with air Pumps and 2 mp10 Running off a 750 watt inverter, the only casualty was a 1 mp 10 that shorted out. After three days in the garage at 79° room temperature I was able to transfer and reset up the tank, than I had to wait another day because one of the bulkheads was leaking and I had to go to a local high-end shop for a new bulkhead

I’m about 45 minutes north, I’ve been to the aquarium already, it’s breathtaking to see the whale sharks, and the reef tank is spectacular.
My sea Anemomes see to be rebounding big time, unfortunately the giant xxxl soft green coral has detached and broke up into smaller peaces

Just restacked after 8 months , It’s nice that my two over hangs are covered with all sorts of star polyps , I still have the same number Of sea anemones, at least now I’ll be able to vacuum them gravel and hopefully look for a few more corals to place

seems like my yellow tang is worth money now LOL

The fact that we keep any of these organisms alive in our homes is a miracle. I remember the first time I saw a blue damsel in the store and was astonished by the color compared to FW. The color of SW fish appeared electric.
That was long ago and by the time I was keeping brown acros I thought I was a master reef keeper.
Today the sky’s the limit, or should I say I say whatever you can afford is the limit. I used to buy Yellow Tangs for $20. My PBT killed the last one I will probably ever own with the new pricing.
Glad to see you’re still enjoying the hobby Tony.

Thanks for checking in Mark, I never forget the first time I met you at your meeting what a great experience, you had a nice giant chalice Coral.
I was fascinated with it , your attention to detail is paramount. I don’t have the discipline to worry or test my water LOL I just do water changes 10 gallons a month. There are a lot of people selling interesting frags down here I hope to get this tank stacked up with some LPS. The funny thing is the blue damsel actually came with the tank , 95 wave , I drove to Binghamton New York to buy the tank full of rock and I’m still using the black box LED lights the blue damsel was one of the few in habitants that survive the trip back to my house set up and reset up after the hurricane hit my house and has made it to Georgia along with all the clown fish

I just felt like checking in I see some activity on the Hudson Valley page, my tank is doing well but for some reason there’s a very bad algae , I’m not sure because my water TDS equals zero and I do 15 gallon changes and I run phosphate remover and a skimmer as you can see most of my clown fish I have moved on so I’m not sure why I’m getting still high nutrient levels

Throw a few urchins in there. You need more herbivores to control algae, nutrient control alone won’t work.

looks great though!

A Foxface will clean that up. You can also try a bag of Chemi-Blue in the sump, or dose Vodka. Any one of those will move you in the right direction Tony.
