I had a grain of sand move from one area of my tank to another.

I'm concerned on what to do.....

Should I do a total tank teardown?
Should I do a massive water change?
Should I get all new powerheads?
Should I scoop out all the sand and do a thorough rinse?
Do I just replace the sand?

If I replace the sand should I replace 100% of it? 50%? 25%?

Please help
You only have a grain of sand moving, I've got fish swimming all over the place. Time to take up stamp collecting, much more relaxing.

I QT'ed the sand in hyposalinity for 71 days.... and now I'm reading it needed to be the full 72 days!

I'm very upset with myself
It was supposed to be hyPERsalinity, not hyPOsalinity... That's probably the biggest issue I see here. The extra day does help but the PO/PER can have far reaching ramifications that one can only begin to imagine.

The grain of sand that moved is now MISSING this morning.

I'm fearing the worst......I think the grain of sand has died behind my rockwork

You’re a member of the 5000 club, you should know it might be “behind” the tank. You know SUISAND!!!

I think once you find that grain of sand you will have to give it a fresh water dip. or you can read some of the threads from the rip and replace sand beds to get through your issues

if a grain of sand moves and no one is there to observe it, did it really move? Ah, the existential questions abound. Time to remove all sand, fish and water, qt for 72 days, fresh water dip all before returning, and film all so that you know it really happened.

Based on what Eubulides of Miletus had to say I think you're fine if it is only one grain of sand that is out of place, but if it is a heap of sand then the Sorites paradox kicks in and the consequences can be problematic.
I disagree. It’s time for a RIP clean.
