Goal is to try and get it plumbed this weekend. I’ve already got the bulkheads in and the main and emergency herbie drain in the overflow box.

Nice. I am building almost the same setup with a generic 120 I picked up. I also picked up the same sump used local for $100 with three buckets of dry rock. I even have the same return pump that came with another persons set up I got with the Varios and a Reef Octopus 110 or 150 I forget.

Nice room !
Have you plumbed yours yet ? Planning on keeping mine as simple as possible.
Not yet. Trying to decide if I want to run my dual mega overflows with the standard Durso and return or convert them to dual herbie style overflows and then add a new return. Not sure I have the space behind the tank to run plumbing like that. I was going to go for the SC Aquariums 120 which at least had one overflow already set up for herbie style.

Never done a herbie before, but I want a quiet tank. From what I’ve read it doesn’t seem too bad. Plus, I already bought a gate valve for it...lol.

I am assuming your tank is set up for it then? I have to convert my returns to drains if I want to run that style on my tank.

Yes. My tank has two 1" drains and two 3/4" returns. After messing with it a little, I might go with flexible tubing/pvc for a good chunk of this. Never worked well with hard PVC.

Plumbing is all glued in. Starting to mount some stuff in the stand. Hoping to get this bad boy wet in the next couple days.
I also ordered my rock...120lbs from KP Aquatics.

And we have water !!

Everything seems to be humming along and the herbie drain is pretty quiet.

Hoping my KP Aquatica Rick will ship next week. Phillip said it’ll depend on the weather, so fingers crossed.

Rock is in and curing has begun. Totally impressed with KP Aquatics rock...tons of life and coralline algae on it. The orange coral one glows under the blue leds too..lol. Already showing some ammonia, so I’ll do a water change tomorrow. Below is about 120 lbs in a 120g tank. A couple small pieces in the sump too.
