If you had only a 1 inch or 2 inch sand bed...there would be no expiry???? But then..you would stil have sandstorm issue is that correct
or do you feel 1-2 inch sandbed has expiry also? Thanks, Tim

well after all kinds of hassle, and having to go with a different skimmer than the hurricone, i will be picking up my new skimmer this week

i do not think that 1 inch of sand would sit well in my tank considering there is a turnover rate off 14,500 gph
