I should add that we set the tank on the wall next to our front door. It was, what we thought, the perfect place. Hmmmmm.....we didn’t realize that with the sun coming in it would create an algae bloom. Holy cow!! Again I was back to googling and trying to figure out what to do. We did HUGE water changes and I tried a water clarity by Seachem..Nothing...I was soo upset and didn’t want to look at my aquarium because it was just sooo cloudy. After googling and reading posts here I learned that I needed a UV sterilizer. Bought one off Amazon (COODIA Green Machine) plugged it in and in less than 4 days my water was clear again! PLUS we put a shade over the window in the door!

I also added a special gift from my brother and sister in-laws. I should say that during this time my mother passed away after a valiant 2 year fight with cancer. She LOVED getting pictures of the tank set-up process and the fish we were adding. My in-laws got me a beautiful cove for my tank and had “Charlotte’s Cove” put on as a reminder of my mom.

I had mentioned earlier that we had gotten some zoas mixed in with our CUC that we had bought. Initially this tank wasn’t going to have corals but sometimes things change. Well that started the coral craze! LOL. Since then we have added some additional pieces. We will slowly be adding more.

I should also say that I am in the process of looking for a larger aquarium. My husband is on the hunt for me and we missed out on 2 this week that were over 200 gallons. We have been extremely lucky is finding our aquariums in auctions. I do have a 60 gallon that we set-up at the beginning of the year.

I'd love to get a bigger aquarium, no auctions in my area. Your lucky to have that available.
We are! We paid 35.00 for the 60 gallon and that included everything - sump, skimmer. For the 72 gallon we paid 50.00 - 100.00 and that included everything too. It came with a skimmer but was not that good so I bought a cheap one to get started and then upgraded to the one I have now.
