So I have this Acan. I got it as a two tiny polyps and it’s been doing well. Under full spectrum it’s fairly muted, as you see in the bottom pic, but I run a low light “blues” hour before lights go out and it has these bright electric blue stripes that contrast against the yellow - the phone only kinda captures it.

Curious if it has a name or just “random acan”?

Also, any advice on getting these colors to pop more during the main light cycle without going all blues all the time?

I would call it Happy Happy Happy
But technically it is an Acanthastrea
So cool looking I haven’t seen one with that color and pattern.

If your lights have individual color control you can go in the manual mode and adjust them one at a time (with everything else off) to see what color(s) from your light makes them look how you want. Then just up that color a bit in your day spectrum

I have noticed even with my actinic maxed during the day and whites ramping for part of the day, there are some colors that just don’t come off as intense until all the whites go off. If this is the case run a more intense actinic mix at the end of the day or also in morning before the white cycle so you get to see them pop more often. That’s what I do now

Are these not Micromussa lordhowensis?

OP, beautiful colony. Some LPS just don't pop under whiter spectrum mixes. I run very white during mid day for my SPS and only my orange lord colonies still pop. I generally enjoy my LPS more once the whites turn down.

Did it happen to have a name or is this just “pretty blue and yellow” acan/micromusa
If it did have a name I've l9ng forgotten. I cant keep up with all these different names and really just coral because I like the color, shape, etc...
