Acrylic Sump cover silicone down on to sump... does it work ?
I am thinking of have a acrylic lid routed to put on my sump, make it look flash like the high end ones?

Will it bow and turn nasty? what thickness would it need to be work?
1200 x 420 x 420 - adding covers over the two sections with hole for skimmer etc...

Also can I remove the bracing and add euro bracing in a thicker glass?

???? it does not need to be water tight, assuming you want plastic over glass to put holes in?
silicone will hold in place to glass, just not recommend water tight or bracing with. ;)

Acrylic will warp in that application. If you use acrylic you will want to go thicker than really needed to minimize warping. Polycarbonate is a better choice for a lid than acrylic.
