Got my aquatic life 48” fixtures assembled and temporarily installed. Just hung them on the light rack with the included wire hanging kit for the moment. Have to come up with a good way to hard mount them to the 80/20 aluminum rail. I am going to try and figure out some good wire management as well.

Decided to go with 3 Blue Plus and 1 Coral Plus bulbs in each fixture. I hope I like that combo.

I will be adding my 4 Hydra 52’s but they are currently over my tank and I will wait to move them over until I move the corals and other livestock.

Let the quarantining begin! This beautiful specimen is eating Selcon soaked spirulina brine shrimp like a champ. He is not too keen on Nori yet but he is starting to pick at it a bit. There are also 3 huge blue reef chromis in there with him. The Tang is about 3.5” to 4”. The chromis are as well. Biggest Chromis I have ever seen.

Divers Den did an awesome job of shipping them. They sent 2 boxes and about 5 gallons of water for the 4 fish. Water temp, was 76 degrees when they arrived and fish were all eating within an hour.

Spent this weekend organizing my fish tank room. Some of the stuff was already done but added shelves and a quarantine tank. Trying to stay busy till the tank comes. Have about a month or so to go.

looks great. im actually looking into building a tank (through the same company) almost the exact dimensions (96x30x30) . just out of curiosity is there a reason you didnt have them drill the holes for returns and overflows?

They are drilling the holes for me. I am just not using their standard overflows and returns. I am doing 2 Synergy boxes and three lock line returns. They will drill for Synergy boxes for you, you just need to let them know location.

I spent about 7 hours on the tank build today. Got the following done:

-Installed LED lights in the stand. Pretty cool little lights off Amazon. Came with a remote conrol and the ability to change colors and create different effects. Had fun playing with some different effects. Will be nice to have come bright light down there for doing maintenance.

-Got my apex registered and on Fusion. My Aqua Illumination Apex Module and my Vortech Apex Module are still on my other tank but I installed my FMM Module with 2 leak detectors and two 1” flow meters as well as my Module that runs my Apex par meter. Got everything all set up on Fusion and all of the outlets programmed. Got all 4 probes mounted and wired as well.

-Sump is in place, skimmer is in and hooked up. Both Octo8 return pumps are installed as well. All 3 pump controllers are mounted in the electrical cabinet.

-Assembled the Synergy overflows and printed off the tank drawings which have the dimension of the overflow locations. Got everything marked out so I should be able to rough plumb everything in. I got a little plumbing done as well.

-Placed yet another BRS plumbing parts order. Should be able to build the manifold now and get most of the plumbing done. I am sure I will be missing a few pieces and parts.

-Need to figure out some cord management strategies. Going to do a little reading tonight and will make a Home Depot run tomorrow and see if I can get some channels to mont on the back of the stand.

Snapped a couple of quick pics throughout the process:

this looks like an awesome build, definitely following along.

What is your plan for the tank? I assume by the rockscape that you are going to go with a good amount of SPS?

Yes, mostly SPS. Here is a shot from the other day. I have added almost all of my LPS colonies. I have 3 or 4 more to go. After that it is all SPS. I would say 70/30 in favor of SPS by the time I am done.

Very nice! I love the open spaces. That would be awesome filled with a lot of damsels, chromis or anthias or all of those haha

You read my mind. 8 Lyretails and 12 Azure Damsels in quarantine right now. I have a school of 7 Bartletts in my Reefer 525 that will be moving over as well. Love the smaller colorful fish and lots of activity.

haha nice! I want to add a lot of damsels but afraid of what ive read on how aggressive they are. What is your experience? My tank is 180 gallon SPS dominant.
