Anyone have any first hand recommendations to add some LED to a Giesemann spectra T5/MH fixture? Wanted to add some of the Royal Blue or similar color to get added florescence from some higher end sps. Worried what might hold up living below or on the fixture with the heat it creates and still keep the aesthetic of the fixture. I’m not looking to bolt on and make it look like some sort of DIY contraption.

The reefbrite lumi looks interesting but was wondering about anyone with first hand experience with this fixture or similar.

I use a RedSea LED 90 with a Giesemann Infinity T5/MH combo. I do not use the MH. See my build thread. So far so good.

Bump... the XHO will work but $300 for a single LED strip light is a bit crazy. Anyone have any others that mount to the fixture?
I was considering adding some blue XHO to the Spectra. Just wondering what you ultimately decided to do?

I Sold some Frags and paid for the XHO. Works great. I was able to mount with some scrap metal plates I had from an old fixture directly to the fixture. Happy so far, although I would recommend 2 of them to balance the fixture. Right now I have one, and I have fishing line attached to stick on clips to counter balance the weight.

i don’t have a great picture right now, but I can post one tonight if you are interested.

I've used the Orphek bars and now run two Reefbrites XHO on my spectra.
One of the orpheks died in less than a year. The blue from the reefbrite also give better pop and looks more natural. Orpheks cost much less but I think the reefbrites are worth the price

How did you connect your reefbrites? Any issues with heat? Thanks

I had to fabricate a bracket to make the reefbrites fit without mods. Not hard at all
I used the existing screw on the spectra to hold the bracket and led bars.
There is no heat issue, you can install the leds without worry
Here are a few pics of mine

Are you still running radiums? What's your current lighting schedule and what T5 bulbs are you running?

Hi guys, I am also trying to add reefbrite leds to spectra. Which one did you add - 2 blue bars?

I added 72" XHO Actinic Blue Reefbrite strips to the front and back of a 72" Spectra. I found a black mending plate to connect the strips to the spectra using existing screws in the fixture.
