Can I add live sand to my 3 yr old reef. 80 rimless with 40 breeder sump. Currently I have about 40-50 lbs of reef sand In but a lot of it got hard I believe from overdosing 2 part. Tank and corals looks great I’m just wanting to get more back in where I removed a lot of big hardened chunks over a yr ago. Can I cover the entire existing sand without causing too many issues. It’s a mixed reef and I no to use a 2” pipe or ziplocks. I just don’t want to crash my tank.

The overdosing of 2 part was 1 1/2 yrs ago tank has been stable since then. I’m wanting to add min. 40lbs maybe more.
