Cable management was not fun, does not too clean but I’m happy with it. A8FE50FC-4BC9-485D-AE97-E0D3B9B603C0.jpeg

How is your 1500 coming along?

Hello! Tank is doing great. Added a yellow tang, blue tang and a bristletooth tomini. Everyone seems to be getting along great! The clowns don’t seem to mind them either. I wanted to add a Blonde Naso but I think I’m going to hold off for now.

Also installed a Tunze macroalgae reactor last week and running chaeto in it. Waiting a few more weeks before adding some sps corals.

Looks great! I’m going to order mine on the 30th, and am very excited to get started! Getting all equipment ordered now, so wondering what you are using for heater, return pump, and RODI system. Probably said this earlier in the thread, so I’m sorry I’m asking again.

No worries you can ask anything. I’m excited to follow your build when you get your tank in! Which one are u getting?

I’m using a BRS brand 600w titanium heater with the InkBird wifi system. Works like a champ

For the return pump, I’m using the ecotech M2, running at 50%. The folks at algaebarn recommends the L2 for the Cade 1500 but I’m quite happy with the M2.

for RODI, I’m using the marine depot branded 4-stage. Got a good deal on it. 32 TDS in and 0 TDS out with Florida water.

Thanks! I’m getting the 1500 as well. Wanted to go more shallow reef, but the Cade shallow is a bit too shallow for me at 13”. So yeah, ordering on the 30th. They have a 1500 ready to ship now, so hopefully it’s still available this Wednesday! In the meantime, I’m gathering my equipment and figuring out how to set up my water mixing station. Fortunately, I have a mechanical room behind the wall where I’m putting the tank, so I’m hoping that will simplify any auto water change system I can set up. I’ve been reading, watching videos, learning, and saving for awhile now, so it’s time to pull the trigger on this grand adventure!
edit: By the way, my TDS out of the tap is 345!!

Hey nice build. I went w/ the M2 as well but I’m having issues w micro bubbles. How did you plumb the return to the flex? With the barb kit the flex opening is still too big, I figured if I tightened the clamp enough it would be ok. Anything over 50% I’m getting micro bubbles.

Would love to see pictures now after you might have added some fish and coral :)

Also got a cade from @AlgaeBarn and love it so much. See you took the socks out and added Aquamaxx AF-1 Filter roller in place of them. We were thinking of replacing with a roller as well. Looks like that one fits pretty well, any troubles with it?

I never had any issues with micro bubbles from the M2. The only time I had micro bubbles was from breaking in my skimmer.

I plumbed my M2 using a clear vinyl hose from Lowe’s. I think it was 1 inch? I had to use a heat gun to soften it up and then used large zip ties to clamp it in. The 1inch vinyl tube should fit into one of the M2 barb attachments. I didn’t like the flex hose that came with the cade.

The aquamaxx fleece roller is great. I’m still on the first roll and it’s been several months. A little bit of detritus gets thru but it’s really not a problem. Way better than dealing with filter socks.

Nice build. Mine is up for early next year. Same Cade 1500. Btw which model of Tunze algea reactor you got? The smaller or the larger one?

Still contemplating on lights.

I ran 4 Kessils and was not too impressed with LEDs so I added aquatic life t5s. Started having decent sps growth after. I highly recommend the T5s over LEDs anyday if you want to go that route.
