Advice on next additions to 75 Gallon Tank

I have been battling through a GHA bloom as well as some Cyano recently, but I seem to finally be turning a corner on that issue. My tank is about 5 months old right now, and I want to start adding some soft corals (Zoas), a Royal Gramma and some Blue legged Hermit Crabs (2) to my current stocking.

Does anyone see any issues/problems with this stocking list, or next additions (Zoas, Royal Gramma, and 2 Blue Legged Hermit Crabs)?

No. A royal gramma is a fine addition.

No issues with that stock list at all. One thing I'd say is as someone who had a leopard wrasse in a 65, when mine transitioned to a male it got notably aggressive toward some flasher wrasses I added. So I would add the fairy wrasse first and a female leopard after, and hopefully the transition will treat you better when it inevitably comes. My experience is not necessarily guaranteed, though, so you might be luckier!

Keep in mind too that Linkia are typically considered hard to care for. That said I saw a thread about them eating mastick, so that might help.

Also, measure your PAR before getting a maxima. They need a lot of light to thrive. Dr. Mac at Pacific East Aquaculture is a great resource on these, as are the folks in the clam forum. Can't recommend PEA highly enough, though- mine is thriving.

Maxima Clams will want a nice stable tank and also they want high PAR requirements, my baby is sat in 400-450PAR currently. You should be alright just as long as you understand their high requirements but also their likelihood of running through your parameters.

A warning on the Linkia Star, most of these will starve in captivity. One thing they’re known to feed on is Aquilonastra (‘Asterina’ )Stars however they can run through the population quite fast. And also they need a lot of film on the rocks to thrive.

I also disagree with the idea of a Yellow Tang. These get active and large, they want Atleast a 6’ tank to really feel comfortable when they hit 4” which is rather quick. I’ve also seen a few yellows in captivity that are the size of small tea plates which is rather large for a 4’x2’ tank let alone a 4’x18” tank.

The Rest of the plan looks good, just be careful with what species of leopard wrasse you go for - I recommend avoiding Macropharyngodon bipartitus as these look similar to M. marisrubri as females which can be nasty when they mature. I recommend going for either an M. negrosensis or an M. meleagris.
