I have ordered my 350 gallon peninsula tank and would like a recommendation on where to have the drain holes drilled. The tank manufacturer has a preference on drilling them in the bottom which will be 3/4 inch thick PVC. I will have a equipment room directly behind my tank and will have access to the drains though a cutout in the drywall. Most of the tanks I see here on R2R have the holes drilled in the back and at the top. Thoughts?

Definitely go with an external overflow on the back if you can. Saves a ton of space and makes drain lines more accessible.

Im redoing an old tank now and im converting from bottom holes to top and middle. its just easier and i will gain some room in the tank once i remove the 2 current overflows
