Here are some pics of my tank. What do you see here? Cyano? GHA? Dino’s? What do I need to do to get this in control? My tank is 6 months old, and PO4 is .08 and NO3 is 2. I’m trying to dose some nitrates to get it up a bit. My chaeto died in my sump and I turned off my GFO and stopped dosing Acropower and Nopox.

I don’t see why you can’t. Many people even fish stores use rubber containers as sumps/refugium. They also use them to keep their live rock in large quantities.

How many hours are your lights running, what are your feeding patterns and amount, what is your water source rodi or facet?

I use RODI all the time, I have 3 AI Hydra 26 mounted in an Aquatic Life T5 Hybrid.......LED’s run from 8am- 11pm with a 5 hr peak. I currently run the T5 for 2 hrs since they are fairly new to the tank. I have an Eheim auto feeder that drops the smallest dose 4 times a day and I feed frozen daily in the evenings.

Today’s test results are:
PH 8.31
NO3. 10
PO4. .040

I just don’t get how I’m having these issues with these numbers!!

I'm not saying it is your issue, but I would cut back the lighting. I run my lights from about 3pm - 11pm at peak for only about 2 hours. I would just keep sucking out as much of that algae as possible. You WILL beat it eventually. I was helping with a tank that looked every bit of that bad, after a year of off and on maintenance with a little lesson in overfeeding it finally worked itself out.
