Hi Experts,

Given the verities of mushroom corals (e.g. discosoma, ricordea, rhodactis and many others) available.. I am struggling with the right placements of these mushrooms together (next to each other) as they are capable of tinging each other. Are there any guidelines or chart available on the right ways (and what not to do) when placing mushrooms close or next to each other? Thanks for any suggestions and recommendations.

Note: I have similar questions on softies, LPS & SPS too.. will be opening a similar discussions in those discussion forums too.

They will eventually try and shade eachother out one will win and kill the other so I agree give them room to grow so one can't ever shade the other completely

I try to give all my shrooms at least 2-3" personal space same species or not.
Babies from same mom no problem. Ive also seen Florida ricordia gardens growing on top of eachother no problem.

And use ones that can touch to separate the ones that can not
This is the part i am struggling with... not knowing which one can/cannot touch the other so that we can work around the placement. At this point the rule of thumb I am using is --- same species can be placed close to each other.

This is how I try to generally place all my shrooms. Same species in same vicinity. Be careful with Rhodactis, especially bounce shrooms though. I have a feeling they can and will get nasty with eachother and release toxins.

Wow.... a cool collection... love the different colours... don't see many of those species in this part of the world. Thanks for sharing.
