listen, I invested in a launch, absolutely love the ability to monitor in real time from anywhere, it has a Ph and Temp probe included when you buy it new. Hydros also has the wave engine and the ATO attachments, I like the way I can link up and command everything. Plus, and I say this as I have a hard time talking about the Maven costing around $1200, I cannot wait for it to come out, the bugs reduced, and price dropped.
does it also have the chance to add something to monitor other stuff mainly alk and possibly cal?

Here is my testing page on my Hydros collective. Some of the inputs are from the alkalinity testing using the iV and some ports and dosing pumps on my X10. Some are realtime. The ones with a date and time are sampled inputs or static inputs. The static inputs are manual test like Hanna and the results are entered into that input. I have pH, salinity and alkalinity from the iV and those are sampled inputs but there is 2 realtime inputs for the pH and salinity probes used but the reading are not accurate except for at the time just before the alkalinity test begins since the probes are in a beaker isolated from the tank. I have 2 temp probes, 2 pH probes, 2 salinity probes on the system for the tank. I also have a temp probe in the iV beaker, one in the mix tank and one in the air in the garage where my mixing station is located. The page in the screenshot is just for testing readings. I have other pages for other things like the garage is the RODI and mixing station inputs and outputs. The ATO and AWC pumps are also out there.

Does anyone know any good smart monitors for Ph? I can't seem to get any coraline to spread and I think it is Ph. I had some growing and now that spot seems patchy. I do bi weekly water changes and I am curious on how my Ph fluctuates over a course of a week.
I highly doubt it’s a pH issue. I haven’t checked my pH in a year. It’s most likely a calcium or alkalinity issue. If you’ve even had coralline introduced somehow.

I really don’t have coralline in my 8 year old system at all. My sps grow and do well. So I think coralline really was never introduced and I’m ok with that. Less scraping!

So live times Ph and salinity. And then in the beaker are alk cal mag and phosphate?

The beaker has a pH probe and a salinity probe in it. The salinity probe is optional and is not used for the alkalinity test. So the only thing from the iV is a sampled alkalinity, sampled pH and sampled salinity. The calcium, magnesium and phosphate readings are manually entered from my Hanna testers. The Maven will do those once it is released also. Most of those were done today. I usually do them Sunday afternoon but I did not get to them yesterday so I did them this afternoon. I have one pH, one ORP and one salinity that are realtime along with temp. I have the Hydros run the alkalinity test 4 times a day so I also get a pH and salinity from that also . The pH and salinity reading from the iV are taken just before it starts adding the reagent to the beaker to get the alkalinity value. The test takes about 30 minutes but the amount of time will also depend on the alkalinity value of the tank water as the higher it is the longer the test will take to complete.

so it has salinity, temp, pH and alk is using reagent in a seperate beaker? interesting set up

Most of the automatic alkalinity testers use that method. The KH Carer, Alkatroinc and the Hydros iV and X10 use the same reagent concentrate. The KH Carer is mixed 8 to 1 and the Alkatronic and Hydros are mixed 4 to 1. You would use a dosing reservoir for the reagent. The iV also has a built in magnetic stirrer. I added the temp sensor myself to use for temp compensation on the pH and salinity probes.

and its all automated? or at least the testing is, not putting it in the beaker

The iv need three dosing pumps to work. A drain pump, fill pump and reagent pump. The reagent pump requires a low flow pump at about 3ml a minute. The other two are a higher flow rate. The fill pump and reagent pump need to be precise but the drain pump could be a Hydros simple doser. It also requires a drive port for the stirrer. The X10 has 4 precision dosing pumps and 2 drive ports. It also has a pH port and salinity port so that is the reason most get them as a pair. The X10 also has 4 sense ports for other inputs such as a temp sensor and leak detector. All 4 test that are scheduled per day are automated.
