@randyBRS any chance of posting the resulting percentages that you came up with for the closest AB spectrum match with the different AI lighting units so the rest of us to be able to reference/try out.

Thanks

Matt

Dave57 posted them in the first post.
Randy changed the hydra 52 a little but in the video randy gave the numbers for Prime, hydra 26, hydra 52.

Sure thing! Like I mention in the video the best representations for the AI Hydra26 was referenced above in Dave's post.
26 HD:
UV - 117.98% (ie. max)
Violet - 101.27%
Royal - 82.34%
Blue - 64.64%
Green - 5.54%
Deep Red - 5.16%
Cool White - 19.03%

And I came up with the following for the Hydra52
UV- 156%
Violet - 154%
Royal blues - 160%
Blues - 77%
Greens - 11%
Deep reds - 40%
Cool whites - 27%

Tried these settings and my PAR dropped considerably from the AI Signature settings (Stuart Bertram) I was using. Measured with an apogee 510.

Think the setting are a match for the blanket spectrum that provided.

How much of a par drop did you have and at what depths ?

@randyBRS @dave57 if i use this new setting to get the spectrum right on my 26 , what would be the best way to get the par up ?

Really the only way to increase the PAR would be to change the sliders (which would also shift the spectrum). Otherwise, using multiple lights on the same settings would increase overall PAR in the tank.

Top 1/3 went from 310 to 250, middle 1/3 went from 175 to 150 and bottom 1/3 went from 100 to 80.

I read the report, could the difference be because this was a setup for frag tanks?

Every reef setup are different. Light intensity distribution can be very different on different setup even using the same program running on the same led. Spectrum can be different as well depends on water coloration (such as slight tint in yellow), clarity and depth.
AB+ program just means lower the white, red, green and bump up the blue. It is not a holy grail or something. Also please keep in mind that different coral came from vastly different environments, including light spectrum and intensity.

I have a question about adapting this to a different program - I try to match the LPS program, so I'm wondering if I keep the same settings except for adjusting the ratios of the white/green/red channels if that would be a good match (I don't have a PAR meter).

The SBS AB+ runs 24% white/green/red and the LPS runs 15/20/25% for the same order. I was thinking of

AB+ simulated
Green - 5.54%
Deep Red - 5.16%
Cool White - 19.03%

LPS estimated
Green - 5.54 x (20/24) = 4.62%, or 5% rounded off
Deep Red - 5.16% x (25/24) = 5.38%, or 5% rounded off
Cool White - 19.03 x (15/24) = 11.89%, or 12% rounded off

Is that accurate, or am I making inaccurate assumptions with the above calculations? Thanks!

Another one worth adding to the list of potential videos. :) Thanks!

Logically, that seems correct, but personally I'm comfortable using the AB+ for any coral type as many reefers already do successfully. :)

Randy, I have 2 hydra 52 HD’s over my 50 gallon cube. Your hydra 52 setting produce 650-700 par with my 2 fixtures. Will the spectrum shift if I reduce the sliders proportionally?
